    Superb

Great hostel, that really felt like more of a hotel. Stayed in a private triple for one night with two friends and we were pleasantly surprised to have our own bathroom. The room was clean and had a beautiful mountain view. We did have trouble connecting to the wifi that was supposed to be in our room, but we were able to connect to the lobby wifi. Located in a very charming and safe area. The main plaza was only a few blocks away and the hot springs were less than a 10 min walk.

This is not a hostel but more of a small hotel. Although we didn’t have breakfast apparently they will deliver it to your room if your doing early treks(we only read this later) there are no areas other than your room to hang out in but this was perfect for us, we really enjoyed the big comfy beds, the TV and movies and the best hot shower, after getting up at 4am for Machu Picchu it’s really nice to come back in the afternoon to enjoy the room.

Just a regular place to sleep after MP. Relatively clean. Can get 40 soles massages (discount from 60 soles). Free breakfast is just bread and tea.

It’s no longer called New day, and is now called Casona del inka. But nobody feels the need to tell you that, so it’s impossible to find. Luckily another hostel owner helped us out or we never would have found it. It’s such a shame to always have such a negative start to the stay because the rooms were lovely, the shower was the best I’ve had in South America and the packed lunch they give you for Machu Picchu was great.

Pros: private room was inexpensive and had a big bed. They had a breakfast packed and ready to go when you head out for machu picchu in the early morning Cons: wifi didnt work whatsoever in our room, the shower water would turn off and on. The second night we were there they shut the water off completely and did not give us a heads up. When we went down to see when it would be turned back on, she did not know and then just made a guess of two hrs. The water was off the entire night

Was ok for the night, hot showers and English tv so was fab to chill before doing Machu Picchu. Breakfast was very basic and it’s very noisy you can hear everything from the street

Cheaper stay in the expensive Aguas Calientes. The beds are really comfortable, showers are hot and breakfast is nice. Just needs a siting area and/or a kitchen as there’s nowhere to sit other than your room, staff are very quiet

I would only recommend this place only if you were going to crash at night and get up early and all you needed was a quick shower and a bed. One issue we had was that we needed to crank just the hot water knob to get warm water running, and even then it would take forever for it to get warm. The room we had was also on the street side with very thin windows (single glass pane), so we heard street traffic and restaurants all night long.

This hostel doesn’t exist - they’ll put you up in something called Los Incas on the main tourist strip, but they will not tell you this so you’ll walk around like an idiot. Do NOT follow their instructions or the address here or Google Maps. Where you need to go is Av. Pachacutec 502. That is a decent hotel but is very noisy at night with bars and pubs and drunken idiots shouting under your window. But it’s clean, and breakfast is ok.
