I split a private room with a friend. We got a private bathroom too and towels! Reception was very friendly and the bistro is super tasty! There are restaurants in walking distance and the backpacking bar district is also not too far. Would stay again!

The Hostel is very recommendable: quiet, well located (20min on food to Khao San road, Palace, and many temples) nice vintage style, street food and restaurants nearby. Possibility to book tours, I wouldn't recommend the floating market if u r looking 4 real Thailand (terribly touristic). Small breakfast, and even smaller if you need to go earlier. We had the chance to take a shower after check out and wait till midnight in the common area for our bus.

Niras has the perfect location for a short trip to Bangkok, literally right near the palace area and foodie hotspots (Thipsamai, Raan Jay Fai)! The staff was incredibly helpful with a late check in and the hostel itself is cozy and offers a good light breakfast :-)

Very cute! Super friendly staff! I rented a private room with onsuite across the street. The staff was super friendly and walked me over to show me how to gain entrance and get settled in my room. She also showed me how to use the dumbwaiter for my luggage, as the stairs are super sturdy, but there is no elevator. The bed was hard, but sheets were clean. Air conditioning worked well. Water pressure was good. Shower was clean, but a little older. Lots to eat close by. A GREAT choice!!

Beautiful hostel - clean, quiet and comfortable. We stayed in the female dorm rooms and there was plenty of room. The bathrooms were very clean and came with shampoo and body wash. The breakfast was ok - there could be more options - but given it was included it did the job! The only issue with this hostel is the location. It’s pretty far from the hot spots in Bangkok but we walked and got grabs were we could. Perfect for travellers who aren’t into partying.

Excellent stay here, 24 hour reception which was perfect for my after midnight arrival. Breakfast included was a bonus. Very clean, pretty quiet for the area, great location for sights and eats. If you're solo and looking to make friends, maybe skip this one - but wonderful for classy old style retreat.

    Very Good

Visually this is a very cool hostel. Very instagram worthy. Location is excellent. The coffee shop is fantastic. We regularly encountered people coming from other hostels for the amazing coffee. Room was satisfactory except there was some stains on the sheets. Very hard pillows. Mattress was fine. Bad part was we arrived very late (2am) from a 20 hour travel time and we had no hot water. Having a cold shower was really a killer. We did get another shower to use the next day but it still sucked.

    Very Good

Stayed there for 3 days. Solo travelers go elsewhere, no ambiance. This is a hostel for people looking for a quiet time. Staff great, location not so much. Prices a little bit expensive, cleanliness + rooms + beds + bathrooms ok (please note there’s not hot water and it’s really hot if not in the room or in the lobby. Breakfast ok. All in all, enjoyed my stay but didn’t like the lack of ambiance.

Niras Bankoc Cultural Hostel says

We have a really distinct style in the hostel that is shown in our building which is over 100 years old. It\'s been well preserved since 1869 and while the charm from the past has been maintained, renovations mean that it has fully modern facilities.
We also have the best gourmet coffee shop in Bangkok! Come and try our winning Thai roasted coffee or our special recipe of Thai milk tea. It\'s delicious.
Many of our guests are travelers seeking to see culture and the local surroundings. From our hostel, you can easily get to all the main sites in Bangkok. There are beautiful temples and museums in our neighbourhood such as the Grand Palace, the Golden Mount, Wat Po, Wat Suthat, and much more! We are just a 15 minute walk from Khaosan Road. I like to think that we\'re in the middle of a \'cultural theme park\' where guests can simply walk to all the sites and enjoy them as if they were in a theme park. Aside from the sites, we\'re surrounded by unique shops, markets, and restaurants with their own recipes. I really recommend \'Thipsamai\' for Pad Thai! We also advise guests to use the canal boats as public transport, as it's cheap fast and fun.
