Very warm feeling place to stay. Nice and clean space, room to stay up late and chat/play games if you wish but also a separated space for bedrooms where people can sleep in peace. I loved the dog/cat who also visited the home. Great location as well, with parking VERY close to the door.

I enjoyed my stay and meeting my hosts. All staff were very friendly and helpful and the following Friday I met a couple in Reefton and recommended the hostel to them as they were continuing on to Greymouth for the night.

The hostel was really amazing. The building is beautiful and has soul and history. The owner was jamming on a guitar, when I arrived I reception, and you could play the piano and guitar in the dining room. Mattress was a little thin, but I slept well either way. Kitchen is well-stocked. Quiet place with a very friendly vibe. Perfect for relaxation.

Really enjoyed this hostel! Has a great vibe about it and a great place to restart the batteries if you’ve been on the go non stop like we were.. Facilities super clean but the building makes it, really old school. Suppose the only negative would be the beds are squeaky, so if you’re a light sleeper it can be annoying? But all in all a nice little quiet gem.

Great kitchen, although small at busy times. Great sized dining room and sofa area. Really good atmosphere and comfy beds. Perfect location for Greymouth and loads of parking. No complaints. Good WiFi too.

Harry and Linda were lovely and very helpful. The room was good and the kitchen was fine. The free bikes were a great addition and they gave us tickets to get money off at the theatre! Only thing was the window opened very wide and the cleaners left it open when noone was in the room and it was near to the street. Otherwise, great hostel, highly recommend!

A place that really makes you feel at home. We arrived rather late in the evening, and got in touch with the owners. They told us they would make sure we would get a dorm room for ourselves so we could relax for a bit after a long drive. Great place to stay at, the property mostly looks like an old villa with so many different rooms all over, it’s filled with lovely and helpful people and had an amazing atmosphere. Directly from the start it gave me a real homely feeling.

The hostel is in an older building, and it shows. While it had all the things I needed, everything felt a bit run-down (I could feel all the springs in the bed, for instance) and dingy. Obviously, I could have paid a bit more for a nicer place, but it would also have been nice to have hot water in the sinks or a bit of heating inside the rooms. The folks that worked there were friendly enough, at least.
