Picture this – you, fruit juice in hand, soaking in a hot tub while you gaze at the stars – that’s the way we do it at Nomads Auckland! From this prime spot on our rooftop terrace, you'll have panoramic views of the city skyline and the harbour. There’s a kitchen up there, too, so you can cook while you watch the sunset. Our historic building also houses a free sauna to soothe those muscles. Our private room was spacious with a good size shower. Tiny basin which as my husband wet shaves made it difficult. No where to hang any clothes - a hanging rail and some drawers would be good. This was the only hostel we stayed in with no fridge in the room - a pity as all the fridges in the large kitchen were rammed. As an older user, I am amazed that mattress protectors are not used and that bottom sheets are straight on to the mattress.

Location is super great. Entrance/Check-in is not really welcoming but staff was friendly. I stayed in a private room with own bath and was a bit disappointed by the bunk-beds and a rather empty room. Small Window that could only be opened when crawling on the top bed... Stay was great nothing to complain about but also not the most extravagant atmosphere.

    Very Good

We had a private room to ourselves with an ensuite bathroom. The attached travel agency, HappyTravels, helped us plan out our holiday. Positives: Ensuite bathroom; window; TV; secure room; friendly staff; good location. Room for Improvement: The "free" meal each night is very small; our room was right next to the elevator and laundry room = noisy!; double bed was actually twin beds pushed together...slight difference in bed heights; kitchen is large but messy. Overall, I would stay here again.

An okay establishment. Not very clean but it is conveniently located. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There were a lot of guests during my stay which made the whole place seem very crowded and there was not enough space to relax. I stayed in the dorms, the bunk beds were cheaply designed but comfortable enough. Top floor had an open kitchen and great rooftop views but not enough seating and awkwardly placed hot tub in same space. Of the few wall charging ports, only half worked.

This average, mediocre hostel is worn in every way: firstly no lights or outlets at beds, dingy paint and holes in walls, stained carpets, and dirty *co-ed only* bathrooms with mold in showers. This hostel did not meet expectations as I was surprised with its poor condition in the main CBD; thought competition would raise the standard. Zero or little effort on atmosphere. Location is good for one night only and staff did their best, not their fault.

Excellent location, but it is very dirty. Hardly anyone cleans up after themselves in the kitchen. The staff is not friendly. They have a nice rooftop dining area, however it is very dirty . Staff could do a better job of enforcing clean rules. Hot tub looks nasty. The common area is dirty and WiFi doesn’t work good there. The couches are like black holes you can’t get up out of. I would not recommend this place. I made reservations from USA not knowing. Thanks
