Overview

Hang out with both locals and travellers at Nui. Hostel & Bar Lounge, a buzzing neighbourhood with an international vibe. Polish up your Japanese over a meal in the café (hint: the language gets easier after a few drinks!), or hold a make-your-own sushi party in the shared kitchen. There's also a common room for guests on the sixth floor where you can read, chat and sip your free tea or coffee. You'll get free Wi-Fi throughout the whole building for when you just want to lie back and watch cat videos.

Location

From Narita International Airport, Skyliner electric railway takes you all the way here in under an hour. Nui. Hostel is in the colourful Asakusa district. In the 20th century, this was Tokyo's main entertainment zone – you can spend hours wandering around theatres, restaurants and izakaya (bars). Culture lovers should check out the 7th-century Sensō-ji Buddhist temple, 15 minutes' walk away. There are three metro stations (on the Asakusa, Toei Ōedo and Ginza lines) within 10 minutes' walk, making it easy to get to Tokyo's other attractions.

Rooms and Dorms

We've got lots of different rooms here to suit different kinds of travellers. If you're paired up you can bag an individual room; solo travellers might like to share the adventure with others in a dorm. You'll get the choice between female-only or mixed dorms, all with individual storage lockers. Some rooms have an en-suite and all bathroom facilities have walk-in showers and jacuzzis for a bit of indulgent you-time.

Extras and activities

Grab a free city map to help you navigate your way around. Here for the shopping? We'll give you free toiletries and linen, so you'll have more space in your backpack for cute (and crazy) pencil cases and printed paper sold in nearby stationery shops. After a long day of exploration, you'll welcome the elevator! We've got air con in summertime and pump up the heating to stay warm in winter.

I thought it was a nice hostel with really great facilities. I loved the kitchen area and the overall atmosphere. Of course, it was a bit empty and ominous, but that was not the fault of the hostel as one could probably imagine when looking at the date. Staff was as always super kind and accommodating. :)

I loved this hostel. The downstairs bar and restaurant area was great for socializing not just with other travelers but the many locals who stay here as well. I also loved the fact that this hostel is close to the asakusa line which has a direct train to Narita airport. If you are flying into Narita and want to stay in a super cool location within the city, I highly reccomend Nui Hostel.

Clean and cheap with very friendly and helpful staff. They let me store my stuff there a full day early to better accommodate my travel plans. The bar and lounge area is lively, with local Japanese people hanging out even if they aren't staying in the hostel. The 6th floor lounge is quiet and good for studying.

What a great hostel! the security and location are superb. This place is pretty hard to get a reso at (unless you're around during coronavirus) so it's worth it to plan ahead. The rooftop is amazing, the kitchen is well set up, and the hangout areas are super well designed. I think this place can sometimes be a party hostel depending on the people that stay, but it's not designed to be one. The staff here are amazing as well and are always willing to help.

Great location close to two subway lines and a straight train to both airports! Super clean and well designed dorms! The cafe/bar downstairs was always busy and the kitchen/library is great for down time. Thanks Nui!

Really cool place, with the corona virus outbreak right now not as full and probably not a sociable as could be, but still. The lockers for your valuables Where fine for smaller stuff, but not as a place to store your entire luggage, as in some places I’ve been to, plus during the day when your room is being cleaned the room doors are open for pretty much a few hours. Not really a problem in my opinion, but something I could see some people not being too happy with. Overall very nice.

Great! Everything was clean, facilities looked nice. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Next time I head to Japan I will stay here again. Will go for the private room next time! The multi guest dorms were also comfortable and quiet. Lockers could be bigger, but it's understandable. Great place to meet people and Japanese citizens as it is a popular neighborhood spot.

I stayed here for 2 nights! Pros: Great staff Location is ok... Cons: As it’s a bar / cafe downstairs it doesn’t really have a hostel vibe and therefore difficult to meet people. Clean but felt old / tired Mattress was quite hard You have to rent locks for your valuables
