Hostelworld says

Oasis Backpackers Hostel Granada is a very social hostel located on a pedestrian street at the base of the Albayzín, near the Gran Vía and the Moroccan market at Calle de la Alcaicería, making it easy to exploring all of Granada on foot. It's little wonder this hostel was ranked among the top 10 small hostels worldwide at the 2010 Hoscars! We like their relaxing patio with a BBQ and the views from the rooftop terrace.

Property Description

Oasis Backpackers is designed for the modern day global traveller who not only wants good tips and refuge from the vigour of the road but who also want to have fun and high pressured showers - someone just like you!

You will find us amidst the ancient cobblestone corridors and candle-lit teashops of Granada's enchanting Arabic quarter, the Albaicon. During the day, the Albaicin is full of life, with Moroccan markets, street musicians, and sunny plazas. When the sun sets it becomes the centre of Granada's nightlife bursting with bars, cafes and clubs.

Our location can't be beat - we're only minutes from the Alhambra, the Moorish Palace and other great sights. Our travel and information desk can help you to explore and unlock the secrets of Granada. We know all the best tips, whether you're catching a bus to the birthplace of Federico Garcia Lorca, heading up to the Sacromonte for a night of flamenco, taking day-trips to the lake or the Sierra Nevadas, going skiing or trying to get into the Alhambra on a busy day.

We also keep you connected with free and fast internet, Wi-Fi and phone cards.

When the museums close and the sun sets, unwind with us on our Tapas Tour, enjoy our cheap gourmet dinners, win free beer by entering our pub quiz, grill some meat'n'veg on our Argentinean BBQ, get sauced at our weekly backpackers party or...just take our elevator up and down all night.

We have breakfast, never-ending hot high-pressure showers, comfy beds, clean dorms, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and DVDs, a fully-equipped kitchen, Spanish lessons, roof-top terrace, open-air lounge, laundry service (we even fold your clothes) and a cocktail bar where you can trade stories over a mojito and some tunes.

I must say that in all my years of hosteling, this was one of the very best experiences! The staff was friendly, no more than that, fantastic! They all had sparkles in their eyes, and seem to enjoy their work and speaking with travelers. After a day or so in Granada I found myself well acquainted with other travelers at the hostel. We formed a merry band of traveling musicians, and ended up singing & dancing with fire! Anything can happen in Granada! Stay at the oasis! It will be your refuge.

I really enjoyed staying here as a solo traveller. Good range of activities (would rec. the waterfall hike!), friendly staff, good sized ensuite bathrooms that are cleaned regularly and good size under bed storage (that can fit a day pack and a 65L bag in it). The only downside was the limited socialising space after midnight - I would be nice to have an area to chill where people can talk freely but due to the design of the hostel its not really possible. Either way, a great hostel!

Friendly staff, good atmosphere, not a party place but still tables outside to sit an socialise, and at their little bar they do 2 beers for 1.5 EUR during happy hour. Also, very warm in the dormitories but luckily they have a few fans running.

Did both the Street Art/Caves walking tour and the Sierra Nevada waterfall hike which are put on by the hostal. The guide is a lovely guy by the name of Michael. Michael has over 10 years experience living in Granada and has many connections within the city. THESE TOURS ARE A MUST-DO!!!

Very good hostel overall. Prime location busy street right at the base of the Albaicín. Staff were very friendly and attentive, and the hostel is a good place to find tours and good food around you

There was an issue with the rooms which wasn’t really rectified. We had made a booking together but were put in separate rooms. The staff apologised a lot but nothing was done to fix the issue or compensate in any other way. In one of the rooms the aircon was also really noisy. Apart from that the hostel itself was really nice and we had a good time. The location is also excellent. You are right in the middle of the bustling city centre.

The pros : The location is great (next to Moroccan Bazar) and I really liked the bathrooms. And the place is stunning. The cons : I don't know the person in charge of the bedrooms but the ladder thing was the most absolute stupid thing Iv seen (better use your climbing skills gal) and the 6 bedroom room was cramped, not enough space for people to move around. The common area kinda suck, as it doesnt really invite people to chill so it is hard to socialize with the people of the hostel.

Oasis Backpackers Hostel Granada says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is that we offer our guests a good variety of activities to do during their stay, such as walking tours in the mornings and evenings, a 'street art and caves tour' that gets you to some of the best unknown spots in Granada, our nice tapas tour and a nature tour to Los Cahorros natural park. All of these are free, of course.
If you just want to enjoy life at the hostel, you can chill out at the patio, enjoying cheap drinks from the bar, sunbathe in the rooftop terrace, or take an 'Arabic calligraphy workshop' on site. Also, most nights we offer dinner (Paella, BBQ, or just something exotic our chef comes up with) for as little as 4â'¬.
Our staff is a great mix of characters, always happy to help, and the good vibe is one of our strong suits (maybe the price on the drinks helps with that!).
The hostel is ideally suited for everyone who wants to have some fun while getting a good look of what Granada is, and not only what you get in the guide books. While the main age group is between 20s and 30s, we welcome everyone who wants to enjoy our place; we don\'t mind the age or the number. Of course, we are wheelchair-friendly, as we are friendly in every other sense!
