Property Description

We have a saying at Oasis Backpacker's Hostel Malaga – if you can't meet anyone here, you can't meet anyone anywhere! Or maybe that was, ‘why do my socks smell like tequila?’ Either way, with cheap drinks, two bars and endless activities, we keep travellers mingling all night long.

We want everyone to join in the fun. Whether we're spending the day basking in the warm Andalusian sun at one of Malaga's many beaches (yes, even in the winter), sipping cocktails while looking out over the skyline on our rooftop bar or stumbling through the historic centre after one of our famous nights out, you will be welcomed into the family...Oasis style!

We could tell you about our amazing central location right in the historic city centre, just few meters away from the liveliest nightlife...or our beautiful building next to the Thyssen Museum...or our spacious and modern dorms and free Wi-Fi...or our futuristic coffee maker...but this is Oasis. That stuff is standard. Instead, we would like to let you know our philosophy:

Our hostel, by choice, is a party hostel. We believe that you should have a cheap bed, clean room and a drink in your hand. We believe that a hostel is a place for meeting other interesting travellers before sleeping with them (take that how you want).

We also know while we might not be the best place for getting a good night’s sleep we are definitely the best place for staying up in Malaga. Besides, you can sleep on the beach.

Everything we do, whether it's our free walking tours, Beer Olympics, Not-so-pub-crawl Pub Crawls or endless array of other activities, our aim is to give you the best damn time in Malaga. Our staff have all undergone numerous training regiments in cultural, social and musical revolutions.

Come stay with us in Malaga and we'll do our best to help you forget you ever did. View House Rules

Oasis Malaga is excellent. All staff is very friendly and it is in a central location. The rooms are spacious with bathrooms inside the buildings. Organized pub crawls and outings are nice as well. WOuld stay again if I had more time in Malaga.

Only rated it bad for cleanliness because I saw two cockroaches when I was in the common room by myself. Really great, fun atmosphere though. I met so many people from all over the world. The only downside is that they offer a tapas tour and a walking tour and both of these just didn't happen during my stay, I have no idea why. And the guy at reception wasn't helpful about it either. But I definitely recommend it and would stay again!

Great hostel, very nicely lit and simply decorated allowing for the creation of a welcoming atmosphere. However, it was Paddy running the terrace bar who made our stay great. Incredibly kind and wildly funny. Would almost certainly come again.

Really friendly and kind staff. Not as nice as the other Oasis hostels I stayed at but it’s not bad. Not very clean - blankets weren’t even folded on the beds when I checked in, I know most hostels don’t wash them but at least let us pretend! Kitchen and bar were both very nice, and good atmosphere.

A good enough hostel. The hostel is in an amazing location and the bar is one of the best I’ve seen in a hostel (although this is run by an external company with staff not-so friendly). The hostel is quite clean, however just one toilet/shower between 8 means it gets dirty easily. I’ve met happier reception staff, although they are nicer after you’ve stayed there for a couple of nights. Excellent WiFi and a generally good price for staying, so all in all worth the money.

    Very Good

Fine hostel with nice staff, comfortable beds and a good location. Unfortunately it is not ideal for a solo traveller, as the common area is a bit of a letdown. The bar above the hostel is lovely, but visited mostly by locals.

This hostel is not clean, really messy people. If you’re looking for a quick place to crash and spend all you time out of the hostel this is your place.

Too expensive for sharing a mixed room of 8 people. In the room people was speaking loud at late time at night. A good thing is that you can use computers for free and print the boarding pass there.

Oasis Backpackers' Hostel Malaga says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is our location, five minutes from the cathedral, the Picasso Museum and the Thyssen. We're also just 10 minutes from the beach and we've got one of the most popular bars in town up on our terrace. It's got a great atmosphere, plus we serve the best cocktails in town.
Personally, though, I think you can't leave Málaga without visiting El Pimpi. It\'s a bodegón around 300 years old and was originally part of the Palacio Bella Vista, which incorporates the present day Picasso Museum. The name comes from one of its past owners, El Pimpi, who used to sell supplies at the docks to the seafarers from the sugar cane export ships. For a while it was a convent before being converted into a night club, and was then given a gentler existence as a Bodegón, as it is today. You can taste all the different types of wine and enjoy their best tapas, or have a lovely plate of ham and cheese. You won't find that kind of atmosphere anywhere else.
Our hostel is suited for every kind of guests; we are always full of people of every age and taste. We also have a special room with ensuite bathroom prepared for persons with special needs, such as an elevator.
