It's also only just 15 minutes' walk from the beach. Hostelworld guests tell us it's ideal for parties and meeting fellow travellers.

Property Description

We have a saying at Oasis Backpacker's Hostel Malaga – if you can't meet anyone here, you can't meet anyone anywhere! Or maybe that was, ‘why do my socks smell like tequila?’ Either way, with cheap drinks, two bars and endless activities, we keep travellers mingling all night long.

We want everyone to join in the fun. Whether we're spending the day basking in the warm Andalusian sun at one of Malaga's many beaches (yes, even in the winter), sipping cocktails while looking out over the skyline on our rooftop bar or stumbling through the historic centre after one of our famous nights out, you will be welcomed into the family...Oasis style!

We could tell you about our amazing central location right in the historic city centre, just few meters away from the liveliest nightlife...or our beautiful building next to the Thyssen Museum...or our spacious and modern dorms and free Wi-Fi...or our futuristic coffee maker...but this is Oasis. That stuff is standard. Instead, we would like to let you know our philosophy:

Our hostel, by choice, is a party hostel. We believe that you should have a cheap bed, clean room and a drink in your hand. We believe that a hostel is a place for meeting other interesting travellers before sleeping with them (take that how you want).

We also know while we might not be the best place for getting a good night’s sleep we are definitely the best place for staying up in Malaga. Besides, you can sleep on the beach.

Everything we do, whether it's our free walking tours, Beer Olympics, Not-so-pub-crawl Pub Crawls or endless array of other activities, our aim is to give you the best damn time in Malaga. Our staff have all undergone numerous training regiments in cultural, social and musical revolutions.

Come stay with us in Malaga and we'll do our best to help you forget you ever did. View House Rules

Welcome to Oasis Backpackers' Hostel Malaga, a party hostel with so much fun stuff going on that sleep will be bottom of your list! We're a super-sociable bunch and we love to hang out in our bars, rooftop terrace and nightclub – drinks are always cheap! There are also games like beer Olympics to compete in and pub crawls to the city's coolest hangouts. In the morning, we'll fix you up with a free breakfast too (and then you can head to bed).

We've got a brilliant location that's just a 19-minute walk to the beach and 11 minutes from Parque de Málaga – ideal for lazy days. We're also within walking distance of top sights too, like the medieval fortress of Alcazaba (7 minutes) and Málaga Cathedral (5 minutes). Flying into Malaga airport? Walk 12 minutes to Aeropuerto and take line C1 for 13 minutes to Málaga Centre Mall and we're a 12-minute stroll away. From Malaga-Maria Zambrano railway station, you can reach us on foot in 20 minutes or jump on bus C2 for 8 minutes to Alameda Principal (Sur) then walk for another 8 minutes to us.

Rooms and Dorms

Our mixed and female-only dorms are spacious and modern with bunk beds and under-bed storage for your stuff. Beds are covered in fresh sheets and you can hire a towel from us before hitting the shower in your en-suite. All rooms have air con as well to help you sleep on those hot nights.

Extras and activities

Get to know other travellers on our day trips to the beach, free walking tours of the city or even hiking in El Chorro – the nearby natural park. For dinner, join our tapas bar crawl or cook something up in one of our two kitchens. Want a day of calm? There are patios and lounge areas with free Wi-Fi and a games room for sessions of (international) foosball. We've also got storage lockers and an elevator to help with heavy backpacks.

Good people and environment with social communal kitchens and opportunities for a walking, tapas, flamenco, and other tours. Be ready for others in dorm rooms getting back late.

Very lively place. Checkin was bit pain but I enjoyed my stay here. Dead center in all the action.

Mixed reviews, Fantastic location, great facilities and a nice Bar on the roof. However, amazingly slow checkin... I arrived 14hs, waited 40mins anddecided to go eat, upon my return, at 1630hs, I was told to go to the end of the line and wait again, no order, its ridiculous to waist an afternoon waiting to checkin instead of being on the beach, when only two days in Malaga. Met some very nice travelers and at the same time there was a large group of 30 teens. Chekout was quick.

This was essentially my first time at a hostel by myself. Oasis is definitely a social/party hostel so people came in at all odd hours (expect to not get great sleep). A little expensive for what you get. But GREAT location and really good (but a little sleepy) staff. The social aspect is big with this one. I would highly recommend.

    Very Good

The location is great, however, the place is too noisy. I couldn't fall asleep until 3 am due to noise coming from a rooftop terrace which is on the top of the hostel.

The worst hostel I have ever stayed in. You pay for A/C but they never have it on unless you ask but then it takes almost an hour to somewhat cool down the room and the A/C shuts off in the middle of the night so you wake up hot. I paid 7euros for them to do my laundry & they turned my whites completely grey. The scent was also so strong I had people in my room make comments & I had to bring the clothes somewhere else to get rewashed. Room seemed dirty and bunk beds were insanely loud!

The atmosphere in the hostel is very poor, and not good for solo travellers. The people staying are mostly older groups and individuals who are not your typical backpackers, but often quiet and seem to be unsociable. The entrance of the hostel is also always filled with people hanging around sort of suspiciously. The general atmosphere is just very odd, at best. The staff also do not offer much information on malaga. I strongly advise you to look elsewhere, especially if you are a solo traveller

Oasis Backpackers' Hostel Malaga says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is our location, five minutes from the cathedral, the Picasso Museum and the Thyssen. We're also just 10 minutes from the beach and we've got one of the most popular bars in town up on our terrace. It's got a great atmosphere, plus we serve the best cocktails in town.
Personally, though, I think you can't leave Málaga without visiting El Pimpi. It\'s a bodegón around 300 years old and was originally part of the Palacio Bella Vista, which incorporates the present day Picasso Museum. The name comes from one of its past owners, El Pimpi, who used to sell supplies at the docks to the seafarers from the sugar cane export ships. For a while it was a convent before being converted into a night club, and was then given a gentler existence as a Bodegón, as it is today. You can taste all the different types of wine and enjoy their best tapas, or have a lovely plate of ham and cheese. You won't find that kind of atmosphere anywhere else.
Our hostel is suited for every kind of guests; we are always full of people of every age and taste. We also have a special room with ensuite bathroom prepared for persons with special needs, such as an elevator.
