Property Description

Oasis is a hostel in the real sense of the word. A hostel should be a hostel. We don't think that it should be a boutique hotel designed by Philippe Stark. A hostel should be cheap and in the best location of the city, within walking distance of everything worth seeing. A hostel should have staff that go out of their way for every traveller, not because we want better ratings but because it is what good people do.

Besides having free Wi-Fi, lockers, and other standard services, a hostel should be clean, and most importantly a hostel should be cool but in the classic sense of the word like Mickey Rourke or Paul Newman, unique in personality that never goes out of style.

A Hostel, more than a place to sleep, should be a place that helps you feel what it's like to actually live in a city and not just stay in it.

Our local and international staff are all Lisbon-lovers and use their wealth of information and personalities to show you their Lisbon with their eyes. 'See Lisbon or Die!' is the name of our activities, led by our staff that will let you truly come to know Lisbon and those who make it special. From local food tours, street art tours, all day adventures to experiences that guide books fear and tourists rarely see, our activities will leave you feeling Portuguese.

Above all, a hostel should be social. In Lisbon with our bar, dinners and special events we go out of our way to make sure that we are the place to meet other interesting travelers to share your experiences with and if sometimes you wake up with a hangover as a token of our hospitality, all the better.

Friendly staff who are ready to assist you 24x7 with anything at the drop of a hat; clean bathrooms to refresh yourself; comfy warm beds, charging points; travel tips whenever you need them; handy maps available at the reception; a great bar with an extremely warm bartender, a great kitchen to order in or cook yourself; a pleasant garden sit-out to let your hair down at the end of the day. With a location & neighbourhood to die for.... what more can one ask for when on a holiday in Lisbon!

An excellent place to stay, friendly staff, nice location. My only quibble is that the 4th floor bathroom needs some maintenance.

LOVED!! Such a social hostel. Lucas, the guy who checked me in, is super friendly and upbeat. He also leads the pub crawls. Lucca, one of the bartenders, is really helpful and nice. They offer breakfast that’s pretty good and cheap. Dinners are pretty good too. You do have to pay for it (about €9), but it’s all you can eat AND drink in wine! Beds were fine and rooms and bathrooms were clean. For a fee, they do your laundry for you. The only down side is that it’s located on a pretty steep hill.

Lovely spot. Great location but on top of a hill so if you have lots of or heavy baggage I suggest Ubering from the airport. Great staff, but pub crawl was a waste of money.

It has everything I need in a hostel. Luckily our beds were next to the bathroom , so it is as if it is our own private bathroom. My only complaint is that it is up a hill. Walking towards the hostel on our first day, with all our luggage was a real exercise. So be prepared for it.

    Fabulous

I enjoyed my time at Oasis in Lisbon. The location (surrounded by the hell hills of Lisbon) is about 10 min from the metro and close to nightlife options. The staff was nice and I enjoyed the outdoor patio area. The female dorm ensuite was great, although I know other rooms had to share one bathroom. Oasis would be even better if it was easier to prepare your own meals, as the staff uses the kitchen during breakfast and dinner, crowding the space a bit.

    Good

Appreciated the helpful staff and the family style dinners. The facility is lacking showers, the only shower on the floor is broken with a nail as a nob, and the private’s bathtub has mold. There are no shelves for the bunks or lockers in the room. It can be a restless night in a 4+ bunk with one window for ventilation and a street light. The sheets are clean and the meals are great. Overall I really wished the shower and sleeping were more traveler friendly.
