Property Description

OstellOlinda is an original and unusual hostel inside a huge and beautiful park, where once was located the Paolo Pini psychiatric Hospital.

The Hostel is a two-storeyed building with a green inside garden where you can chill and relax.
There is a fully-equipped kitchen (we provide some free food and spices) and a lounge room where you can study, work or watch tv.
In front of the Hostel, the Bar Restaurant Jodok - where you can have delicious and not-so-expensive food!
We offer a buffet breakfast with bread/butter/jelly/nutella, cake and cookies, cereals and muesli, fruits, juices, milk, coffee and tea.

HOW TO REACH THE DOWTOWN
You can quickly reach the downtown/Duomo and the Central Station with the Yellow Line of the subway, that is 5 min walking to the hostel (Stop: Affori FN)

WHERE TO EAT
There is a shopping mall 5 min walking distance, where you can find anything you may need. In the neighborhood you can find a few pizzerias, bars and shops. On Saturday morning, right outside the hostel, there is a typical Italian street market.
On Saturday and Sunday, all the guests are invited to share a typical Italian lunch with staff and friends.

OUR HOSPITALITY
We believe in the hospitality as a means of integration. That’s why in our Hostel, a few persons, who have been partly secluded from society have found work and socialization opportunities. This aim of integration, shared by all the staff, leads to an accommodation policy centered on relationships: you will feel home here!

    Superb

I stayed there one night. on Fridays and on Saturdays the hostels in Milan are very expensive. ostellOlinda was one of the cheapest. this hostel is special because there are people with disbilities working there. It is a good exemple of integration. Pay attention: the reception is open until 7 pm. after 7 pm, the key to open the door is inside a box near the door. you need a code to open the box. the code will be sent to your mailbox if you arrive late.

we arrived late. they don't have 24h receptionist BUT they gave detailed guideline for us to get to the hostel & to get in. they also gave us a phone number to call if something emergency happened & they answered our 3 AM call. the check out time was 11 AM (if i'm not mistaken) but we can still stay there to chill after 11. they offer to keep our luggage while we're away after we checked out. the people are sooo friendly.

It doesn't feel that much as a hostel. Because some of the guests are older and live there. But is a really good place if your needs are a place to rest and cook. Great kitchen and room. Amazing staff and a pretty good breakfest to start the day.

Friendly atmosphere, clean and spacious rooms, good shower, nice staff and yummy breakfast. The location is not great but close to the metro with direct line to city center. I stayed 2 nights and had a good experience.

    Fabulous

It's a family place run by old people. They are very friendly and will do their best to help you. The check in starts at 11 but we got there at 9 and immediately got our room. Free breakfast was also nice. There's a nice small garden inside. It's a quite place, accessible my metro from the Duomo square. I have seen families as well as friends groups staying there.

    Fabulous

This hostel is very spacious, clean and has very nice staff. It is quite a way out of the city but it is close enough to the tube so it is fine if you are OK with spending some time on public transport to get into town to the touristy spots. It has a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Don't come here expecting your usual youthful hostel vibrancy.

    Very Good

    17 Jan 2020
At first, We were a little spooked by the past reviews from previous guests (especially at the fact that it was previously a mental hospital). However, our experience was generally quite pleasant and problem free. The building and furnishings are old but functional and definitely worth the price we paid. Location-wise, although being well outside the city centre, the train station (8 Min walk) brought us to duomo in about 20 min. Finally, the hostel compound was well lit at night.

    Good

Not a great location, but it is close to both train and metro stations. There’s not much in the way of atmosphere, most people staying there are older, not great for solo travelers. The building is pretty old and could use a renovation. Staff was amazing and super friendly though, let me leave me bags after checkout and hangout in the common area. Works for a night or two

Honestly, I’ve been in a lot of hostels and this one was awful. I’m not sure if it was the time of year or the guests but it gave me that yucky vibe. Me and my friend left 2 nights early and we’ve never done that before. The staff was very understanding but as a women I wouldn’t recommend staying here. Especially solo.
