Highly recommended. We just wanted a spot to crash after a day on the wine tram and we will most definitely be back. Peaceful, tranquil, nestled away in a forest like property which is surprisingly a stones throw from town.

Returning for the 2nd time to Otters Bend, a quaint and homely feel to the place. Absolutely loved it, rustic would be the best description. Thank you Mary & Mark for hosting us, again lol.

short but very pleasant stay. Rustic environment, crispy clean bed linen and towels. handy central kitchen with coffee, tea, sugar and milk supplied.Very comfy dining area for the self catering guests. Log cabins very clean and looked like part of nature. All in all,we really enjoyed our stay. Said a quick hallo to Arnold (our private little joke) but we really did!!! Pity that your place is not really suitable for wheelchairs. a project to think about? may you be fully booked in thenext season !

Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay at Otters Bend Lodge. The room was clean and comfortable and Mary the owner could not do enough for us. We were lucky because the room was ready and we were allowed to check in early which really helped with our schedule. The lodge is a short walk from the centre of town and the scenery around it is stunning!

I really enjoyed my stay at Otter's bend in January. The location was great, very secluded but only a 15 min walk to Franschhoek town. The place felt very safe. The bedroom was lovely, super clean, a little problem with mosquitoes but think that was the time of year I went. Staff were not very present all the time, but this is not bad. Kitchen was fully equipped, great seating area to chill. Wouldn't recommend for meeting people as a solo traveller but great if you want peace and quiet!

Otter's bend is a perfect destination for a big group of people. The accommodation is well spread out and all you need for a weekend away. The rooms are clean and there are plenty facilities at your disposal. The one issue was that the fire place appears to be partially blocked and therefore the smoke fills the common area which is not great. All in all, a great place to rest after a busy Bastille Day!

    Very Good

Location is stunning, even though about 20 minute walk from town centre. Room was lovely but toilet was leaking and shower could not be set up properly - either scolding hot or cold.

Our lodge was very basic. Having some issues at the time of our stay but we had no hot water and the wifi wasnt working. The setting is lovely but the accommodation was more basic than we expected. Our lodge wasnt as clean as we would have wanted. The communal facilities and lounge are dated and basic. Personally I think the place is in need of some investment and modernisation.

Cleanliness ok. Service was basically non existent. We had a private room which was ok. But the common area was unusable since it was completely open to the elements (and it was early in the season). The private rooms are located far away from the main compound so it doesn't really feel that safe. All in all it's the cheapest option in Franschoek but (in our opinion) you're better off booking something a bit more expensive and actually get a accomodation that is worth your money.
