Left after my first night and booked a hotel. Although it is close to the subway it feels very in the middle of nowhere and down a side street, does not feel great. Bed was TERRIBLE. If you’re used to a western mattress do not stay here. Tiny piece of foam on the hard wood base made for an awful sleep. Apparently it used to be a prison and it still looks and feels that way with minimal light etc. Pay more and experience a better side of Beijing at a hotel!

The woman on the front desk was super unhelpful and rude - something experienced by other people in the hostel. It only had two bathrooms and showers for many people, and the showers smelled of urine. There were no cold water dispensers. The location was decent, though it would have been better to be located near the drum tower perhaps rather than so far north. I didn’t enjoy my stay here because of the poor facilities, but Beijing has few affordable options and I did meet some nice people here.

So actually is the only and cheapest hostel in the city, but its dirty and smelly. Is really cheap, so if you have the chance double the quote, you will get a much better place. It is the worse hostel i have stayed, actually i couldnt stand the lack of clean áreas in my room reason which i looked for another place in that same day.
