All handles of the bathroom and the toilet was expecting it to be dirty but not at all. Very clean place. Beds were made and no bed bugs which was a huge relief. Never stayed at a hostal before and had a great experience. Staff was amazing the women always helpful and kind.

When I first came in as a young, single woman, i was a little hesitant. But, I found both my private room as well as the communal bathroom to be exceptionally clean and tidy. For the price and the location, you can't do better. The couple that runs it is lovely, it is quiet and no one bothered me during the time I stayed. It was a great stay! I highly recommend it!

The room was clean and well kept, but dingy. The window looked directly into an adjacent window apartment which I heard those people talking all night and smelled their smoke (I could have closed the window). It seemed they could have easily come into my room through the window. The walls were thin, so I would be woken up at 3am with people ringing the front desk bell or coming in from partying. The shower pressure was great. I would stay again, I just recognize it's limitations. Polite staff.

Great price, great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had to add a couple of days with little notice and it was not a problem. Glad I spent a little more to get a room with it's own bathroom. My only slight criticism was lack of convenient outlets. Not updated, but for the money, no complaints.

Stood at a room w/bathroom. Great location. "You get what you pay"... kinda. Staff is really nice, you can ask for toilet paper or towels, if you don't, they won't mind your room. Cleanish. Would come back.

Excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms. It's an old building with shared facilities but don't let that put you off.

Ok place. Great location. Secure enough with locking front and room door. Clean enough room, bathroom and showers. It was essentially the caliber of a motel 6 but without private bathroom. If you want a great location this is your place. Parking was a bit of trouble as the on street parking is hard to come by and was metered. Parking garage near by was 5$/hour or 20$/night from 8pm-5am.

You get what you pay for. San Diego's hotels are extremely expensive. The Pacifica was extremely reasonably priced. It was 3 flights of stairs to my tiny room with a full size bed. The room was extremely clean though. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but the cleanliness made up for it. There was a smell of ethnic food that was attempted to be covered by air fresheners. The location was perfect for walking to restaurants and the convention center. I would stay there again.

Not enough room for full story, got there expecting clean very basic room. Building smelled musty, OK I can deal. Staff friendly but very poor english. I can deal. Door knob about ready to fall off. Room smelled of urine, strong not faint. Toilet had plunger beside it, it was needed. Sorry but nasty place that I would not recommend. Spent an hour, half of it booking another place. They only charged me for 1 of 2 nights. They offered to try another room but no thanks.

This place sucks. I am not one who is involved in hostel type lodging, so consider this biased. This place sucks though, and I would never in my life go there again. The lady at the front desk is horrible, the rooms are horrible. I reserved a double bed room, and when it says double beds it essentially means double twin beds. There are two twin beds, Please save your money and go to an equally priced motel a couple miles away and just use Lyft or Uber if you're trying to visit the Gaslamp.
