This place is amazing! It's out in a little patch of jungle and is super chill. Our private room had an open shower looking our over the rainforest and a deck to catch the afternoon rays. The staff are really nice and the free shuttle to the orangutans and sun bears is ideal. There are no shops close by but they cook lunch and dinner which is really well priced and delicious. The Grab out here was cheap and I would 100% stay here over in the centre of Sandakan!

Amazing place to stay. Dorms on stilts above ground. Beds have mosquito nets. Given a towel and breakfast included. Meals were really nice. Shuttles run regularly and staff are very helpful in getting you to places. I arrived at 9pm and they sent a car to pick me up from the bus stop and kept the kitchen open late for me to eat! I had to go to the hospital while there and staff were very helpful finding out on the phone if the clinics had what I needed and then arranged transport for me.

A very beautiful place in the jungle the photos don’t do it justice! It is very much in the wild keep in mind if you don’t like bugs and the occasional lizard this might not be for you,the food is AMAZING so yummy and served pretty much all day and really cheap! There’s a really good free bus service to all the attractions super friendly staff and they can offer really great activity’s too we went on the firefly mangrove cruise and loved it! Would highly recommend and will be returning.

Peaceful and relaxing. Great staff, friendly and knowledgeable on the area/things to do. Stayed in a private. Loved it. Comfortable bed, all with mossie nets. While they say outdoor shower / balcony both with view, it's just dense trees, so don't expect to be showering overlooking an idyllic valley. There's nothing to do there, simply your place to crash, eat and head out for the day. They've a 9am free shuttle to Sepilok, and a 2pm & 4pm back. Rest and recharge.

In the middle of nowhere, dorm room is nice but v v hot at night. Shared facilities are clean enough. We upgraded to a private room on our last night with aircon and a nice view and enjoyed the luxury of our ensuite facilities. Food on site was good. Staff friendly. Didnt do any of the other tours advertised. Heard from other travellers that the firefly tour was disappointing but we didnt do this ourselves. Free shuttle to orangutan sanctuary

They arranged a free transfer from the sepilok roundabout even at late hours! There was also a free shuttlebus to the sepilok rehabilitation centre. It took around 10mins to get there. Keep in mind that they only organize two free shuttles at 2pm and 4pm from the rehabilitation centre back to the retreat. Otherwise you need to pay, which we did not know. Our dorm was fine but the electricity did not work. Free breakfast was nice. Toast, scrambled eggs, fruits and sausage. Nice communal area!

There was no kitchen or area to make your own food which is a bit of a downside. Some of the staff were very friendly while others seemed very rude. This is definitely geared more towards people looking for a retreat style lodging and not those just looking for a hostel to sleep in.
