Hostelworld says

Palmers Lodge - Hillspring at Willesden Green is continually praised by Hostelworld visitors for its bright and cheery, 'spotless and hygienic' cleanliness, featuring 'comfy, robust, wooden' bunk beds with privacy curtains. Our reviewers appreciate the 'very friendly and helpful' staff who are 'a good laugh'; one Hostelworld guest said the hostel 'felt more like a family and social hotel' than an average hostel. We like that both the doors and the lockers are secured by keycard. The location is good, too - the hostel has parking spaces and is five minutes from the Jubilee metro line, while a 24hr bus stops outside.

I’ve been staying here for many years. It is excellent in every aspect. I would recommend staying if here to everyone. I’m 68 years old and it’s great even for someone of my age. There are very few places as good as this any place in Europe and I’ve been travelling for over 50 years. Give it a go and find out for yourself. You won’t be sorry!

I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly and helpful, lots of good places for food nearby, close to the rail, good price. The room, however, was a bit too warm over night and the air conditioner didn’t seem to help much. The bunk beds were quite private which was great. Would stay again.

Great Hostel, i really enjoyed my stay. Only thing is for the 4 nights i was there they only offered toast and croissants for breakfast (can’t complain cause it’s free), and the hallway doors SLAM when they close so you hear it every time and the walls are fairly thin so just hope you don’t get inconsiderate people in your hallway. Also take into consideration the time of year you go because there is no AC in the buildings and they are fairly small with only one window for ventilation.

It was a good hostel, clean and good atmosphere. The only things to improve are the noise in the mornings and nicer people in the staff reception team. I would come back, it was a good cost-benefit.

    Very Good

    05 Jul 2019
Staff is nice, breakfast is generous and in general the place is good. HOWEVER, I was staying in top floor room and it was completely impossible to sleep due to elevator system noise. When I pay for a hostel bed I'm just expecting to be able to sleep and take profit of my next day. Definitely not the case here. After 3 hours trying to sleep I went to the reception to ask for another bed. The answer I received was to use some plugs. Cannot recommend it.

    Good

The hostel was safe enough, but it's in rather an out of the way location. The co-ed bathrooms were an unwelcome surprise and the no-smoking and quiet hours rules were not well enforced. Things seemed fairly clean but the sheets were not changed when my roommate asked. Breakfast was boring and everything in the juice machine tasted like peanuts. The bar did not serve dinner. I would like to say that I enjoyed my stay, but it had a lot of problems.

Palmers Lodge - Hillspring at Willesden Green says

I think what makes our hostel really special is our atmosphere. We're in a modern building full of collectors' objects and quirky boutique interiors, with custom-made bunk beds that have curtains and nightlights for extra privacy in our large dorms. Our guests seem to appreciate that they have the option to both relax after a long day or to join the crowd and socialise if they want to.
We're quite close to Kensal Green where you'll find the famous All Souls Cemetery. The Neasden Temple is also nearby; this architectural gem is the first and largest traditional Hindu Temple in the world outside of India and a must-see attraction open to all visitors. Around the corner in Kilburn, I recommend visiting The Tricycle Theatre. It's the perfect cultural fix, comprising a challenging and innovative theatre programme, a cinema and an art gallery, as well as a café and a bar, and was voted 'London's most beautiful cinema' by Vogue magazine.
