Really good place, lovely staff, and a great location. It is pretty pricey in comparison to hostels in other parts of the country, but you pay more for it being in London! It's super acessable from the Swiss Cottage tube station and buses as well!

I enjoyed my stay here, although I spent very little time actually in the hostel and only used it to sleep and get ready in. I got quite a good night's sleep considering I was in a 16 bed dorm as everyone was very respectful about their noise level. I'm quite tall so found the bed to be a little on the short side, but it wasn't a huge issue. The staff were friendly on the couple of occasions I needed to speak to them at the front desk. The interior of the common rooms was very nice.

Here for an overnighter. I was in a bottom bunk bed with a nice bit of privacy. I was on the other side of the room far from the window. As is the problem in most hostels it can get very hot when there's a few people in. It cooled down later on at night. We could have done with some fans maybe I didn't see any. I'd say they might be a little bit overdue on getting new mattresses. Just nit picking. Overall its a great hostel and I think compares better. Visitors and staff are nice and relaxed.

There’s no denying the renovation Victorian style mansion is pretty cool, but the layout makes the people staying there more disconnected. TINY KITCHEN. curtains are nice on beds but if your under a triple bunk, watch you don’t crack your head on the low clearance. Median age is slightly older/mixed. Staff were, ok, but not quite as friendly as I’ve come to expect. In general, just less of a welcoming atmosphere compared to others.

If you’re looking for a good nights sleep, you probably won’t find it here. It has all the basic requirements of a hostel, and lots of bells and whistles, but it’s loud and crowded and not overly friendly.

The hostel was full of drunk, drugged older men who would fight in the common room and make everyone feel uncomfortable around them. I have been to a lot of hostels, but I have never really felt unsafe until I stayed here. I informed the staff about one person in my room that made me uncomfortable and nothing happened. I would not stay here and would not recommend anyone too. The house itself is very beautiful and clean but not worth the money or time on transport to get there.

Palmers Lodge - Swiss Cottage says

I think what Hostelworld guests like most about our property is the character of our building, a beautiful Victorian listed mansion. Our helpful staff are also highly rated.
We've got some great unique features, like lots of free under-bed storage and custom-made bunk beds with curtains and nightlights for extra privacy. There's also an onsite bar where you can meet other people and join our theme nights; plus, we also stock several pub games and a Wii. I really feel that we're ideal for budget-concious travellers who want to experience boutique accommodation without sacrificing the social element that can only be found in hostels.
We're located less than 20 minutes' walk from Hampstead Heath, Abbey Road, Regents Park and Primrose Hill. I recommend checking out the Hamstead Theatre; it's only about four minutes' walk from here. Esther, Sales & Marketing Manager
