Property Description

On the main Island of the archipelago Bocas del Toro, named Isla Colon, you'll find Panama's Paradise. Our Cabanas are comprised of 10 different properties, divided into rooms, apartments and cabanas. All are situated on a small property near the water, surrounded by lots of lush, green tropical plants in a quiet neighborhood with that perfect tropical vibe.

Saigoncitos are built by locals in the local way with a Caribbean feel and colonial style that is widely seen in Bocas. The wooden cabanas stand on stilts, are colorfully painted and have spacious verandas with hammocks. The cabanas are surrounded by lots of trees and tropical plants. Fairly hidden in your hammock you'll enjoy the numerous visits of the hummingbirds to the garden while sometimes you will see local chickens wandering around.

The cabanas are simple and fully furnished with the basic comfort: kitchen, wireless internet, semi- orthopedic mattresses, security boxes, ceiling fans and warm water showers. If you want to know what life is like in Panama's Paradise Bocas del Toro, come to Saigoncito and find out!

Saigoncitos are located in a small and friendly neighborhood with a mix of locals and foreigners, called Saigon. It is a quiet area but gives you a real taste of the local life. The sea is just crossing the street but unfortunately there is no public access there, Istmito beach just 5 minute walking and you're only a five minute bike-ride away from downtown.

Bicycles are the way of transportation on the Island. You use them to explore the island and the nearby beaches, to do your daily shopping, go on tours and out at night! There are also taxis ($1/person, $2/person at night) into town that pass by quite frequently and various shuttles to different beaches that may not be accessible by bike. If you want to go to another island, you need to take a water taxi and you can find them all over the main street (calle 3ra). View House Rules

Beautiful little room, having your own kitchen and bathroom was lovely and it has all the facilities you needed. Was very clean and the balcony with the little table, chairs and hammock were lovely. Felt very at home and were also able to walk into town centre in about 15 mins leisurely pace.

It's quite far from the center but the atmosphere is all worth it. You can rent bikes which makes everything easier. You feel like a local. The staff is really helpful. They give you a little map where everything is located (post office, bank,restaurants...).

    Fabulous

Nice clean cabins with refrigerators and coffee machines. They have their own water filter system so you can refill your bottles. The bikes that come with the room are super convenient and make it very easy to get around town. We did have a stranger wander up onto our porch and try to ask us for money, and we returned to the cabin one night to find another stranger snooping around the front porch with a flashlight. No harm done, but also not the most tucked away place.

    Fabulous

Jenny was very helpful and accommodating with directions, tips, and making our stay comfortable. She even treated us to a beer upon arrival. Our cabin was lovely and our cabin mates were too. If you are looking to stay within walking distance of the town or close to the beach, this might not be the spot for you. It's not secluded by any means, it's where locals live.

Nice place away from the main town. Bikes were pretty necessary for getting around but it was nice to be somewhere quiet. The staff were really friendly and let us check out late which was really helpful. The only complaint is that we were told the cleaner would come every three days but on the third day all we got was a pile of towels and a bin bag left outside our door. In general a very chilled atmosphere, it's a nice place to have an extended stay if you have been travelling around a lot.

+nice bungalows +walking distance to center. At night you can catch a cab for 1$. +staff +great hammocks on porch to relax -it is a place, where many local children live. From 8 am it begins to be noisy (kids jumping on a trampolin......) -a place where locals live, no restaurants, cafes around the corner (15 min. Walk) -not ideal for solo travelers, no common area to meet anybody -bicycles cost 6$per day and are not for free anymore as stated in last years reviews

    Very Good

    13 Jun 2017
Panama's Paradise Saigoncito is a cute, private hostel that feels more like quaint jungle bungalows. Pros: Hot water (!), ADORABLE patio, cute decor, kettle and fridge in room, friendly staff. Cons: Bikes are NOT included in the stay anymore ($5/day), no AC so rooms get a bit hot (but manageable), and the location is a bit far from the town center and restaurants. You'll need a bike or taxi to get around.

Place is out the back of town which makes it quiet. Good if you want to be secluded from Bocas town. Provided bikes which was great for getting around and the owners were really friendly. Not much going on (We were there over Christmas and it didn't really feel like it). Room didn't have a kitchen and eating out was really expensive for 3 meals a day. Room was fairly nice, warm shower, fridge and it had a shared deck. Sadly we had a young family next to us who woke us very early each morning

We have been backpacking 6 months and by far worst place we have stayed! Full of cockroaches and lizards.I woke up one night with a very large cockroach on my arm. The bedroom fans are completely insufficient and located so that you hit your head every time you stand straight, the two in the living area/kitchen did not work. Shower only had cold water, advertised as having H+C. Als had cockroaches. The WiFi NEVER worked. Didn’t have one nights sleep the whole time here. Couldn’t wait to leave.
