Papaya Lodge was the perfect place for our visit- very chilled out with nice places to sit and relax, located right in the middle of El Tunco, near the best nightlife and restaurants, and just two minutes from the sea.

Great place to stay in El Tunco. The air conditioning in our room made all the difference and the hammock area was perfect for a nice afternoon nap! Love you El Tunco

Had a great stay here. Pool is nice and so is the lounging area. Rooms are clean, with AC and lockers. There was loud music in the place beside the hostel at night, so bring earplugs! Would stay here again

Really nice place to stay. We had a group booking in a dorm. The staff are amazing and there are hammocks and sofas where you can relax within the hostel. All the shops and restaurants and the beach are within a 5 minute walk. The only thing they didn't have wash a washing machine or lavadora to wash your own clothes. There was a launderette around the corner though.

I stayed here for a night on the way to Léon. Basic enough hostel, geared mainly for surfers. Basic enough facilities, but with a bar and a pool on site.

They forgot our booking so we didn’t get the room we had put a deposit down on so didn’t get a room with AC. Fortunately the room we had was cool enough with a fan. If you speak fluent Spanish, this place would be great. Staff were helpful to a certain extent. Pool was okay. Location was pretty good. Surfboard hire was a bit pricey compared to other shops. Beds were okay. Probably would recommend compared to other hostels we stayed at in el tunco.

Dorm room was like an oven, could of turned the AC for 1/2 an hr to cool it down just a bit after been locked up all day in the heat ,Nice enough place ..but the little things add up, having to pay to refill your water bottle , no towels , no bath Matt’s , $15 to hire a s***y old board for an hour, power worked off n on hot and uncomfortable...decided to leave early the next morning..the staff tolerate foreigners because we spend $ I guess , who’s knows ..not a great vibe unfortunately...

Honestly, the location is fantastic, everything else was subpar. I specifically booked this place because of the location and it supposedly had ac. No air in my room, it had a fan. It was filthy and smelled like sewer. I was appalled.

Filthy kitchen that you can barely use the fridge, the sheets felt really bad with their texture, bathroom kinda ok most of the day. The pool is nice though but you can easily find a better and cheaper places around so don't book online and come there. Surfboards rental is also expensive (15$ a day instead of 5$ in hostels nearby).
