Real nice spot, and not far from anything in downtown. The staff is excellent and are very helpful. I actually got some great advice from the front desk on art locations and life! The breakfast isn’t all that -a couple of more options: oatmeal, fruit would be nice. But if I ever need to come to Chicago again I’ll try to book this place! It’s definitely NOT differently abled bodies friendly though. So, be sure you book you’re able to walk flights of stairs.

Had a great time in Chicago and the Parthenon was in a place to stay with plenty around and it’s only a 40 minute walk or a 15 minute bike ride to some of the major attractions in the city

The Hostel is OK! The good thing is that it is really close to the metro station and within 20 minutes walk you are at the Millennium Park. It is in a Greek neighborhood and they have several places to eat and have a drink right next to it. The breakfast is simple (you only have cereal, bread and boiled egg with coffee and juice). The bathroom was the worst part. They had 2 showers and 2 bathrooms for the hole floor. If you are trying to save money this is your option.

    Very Good

First time in a hostel. So was very wary about a “bare-bones” facility; but if you’re looking for a clean comfortable bed to lay your head and want to save some money, this is the place for you. Old, creaky building but a lot of old Chicago character. The common TV/kitchen area very nice. Only criticism would be the shared bathrooms...could be cleaner and updated.

Everything was pretty good, except there was an offensive odor in the female dormitory (room 114) - maybe it was urine?? Also, it was noisy in that room on Friday and Saturday nights - I could hear loud music and the beat - from the bar next door I think? One uggestion that would be helpful are providing stickers to put on our stuff in the frig, so we can mark our names and dates on the items we have in there. Thanks!
