Hostelworld says

Hostelworld guests rated Peking International Hostel the most popular in Beijing at the 2011 Hoscars and it's no wonder - this clean, modern and charming hostel has boutique-style common areas and a rooftop restaurant as well as vases of fresh flowers throughout which provide 'a welcome respite from the dusty Beijing streets', as one traveller said. Our visitors tell us this is 'more than just a hostel, [it's like] a little quaint boutique hotel. The perfect place to rest after a day in the crowded city centre'.

Great hostel, right on the main hutong (although the entrance is down a side alley - the only part of the directions that wasn’t clear) with a cosy lounge area.

Couldn't be a better location, right on the bustling hutong. Had stayed in everything from high rise to sleeper train, mountain inn and courtyard hotel. Was lovely to arrive here after long journey. Full of plants and flowers, welcoming staff & chilled cafe. Comfy lounge area for residents. I paid for a private room. Was spotless. Highly recommend 👍

As compared to many international youth hostels , this hostel does not have a kitchen or even a common microwave to heat or cook your food. probably this has been done to give business to the a cafe named Peking cafe that the they under the same roof. They did oblige to heat my food in their kitchen. The wash rooms-showers are common for males & females and are tooo tooo small. I don know why on earth would some one want to save so much space in a international hostel.

We loved the location & atmosphere at this hostel. It’s really central, you can walk to the Forbidden City & lots going on at night. English spoken is limited and we didn’t pick up any useful information like last entry times etc even when we booked stuff through them but they are really friendly. Loved the attached cafe for a nightcap

It wasn’t bad. It was my first hostel experience. I cancelled my hotel reservation, so I could meet people, but none of my roommates spoke English. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The location was perfect! I basically ate in the cafe the whole 4 days, because it was beautiful! Overall the experience wasn’t bad, I just know now that hostels aren’t for me.

The location of this hostel is amazing- it's located right in a hutong with lots of food and shops, and it is also very close to the metro. There's also a small jug of free water. I was also greeted with a glass of iced tea upon arrival, which is much appreciated. cons- There's no free shampoo and body wash.

    Fabulous

I still like the mood of Peking Hostel. The bad thing is that, it seems for Chinese guests they always arrange the worst room, 207, no independent bathroom. I stayed in this hostel several times but almost every time I get to live there. How come? Seems there's a racial discrimination problem. The staff aren't nice. Every time there's something unclear and you ask for explanation, they make this face or long pause like you're stupid. They're not passionate about helping guest.

This is a great hostel right in the heart of one of the Hutong neighbourhoods in Beijing. The 2-bed female dorm shares a bathroom with another 6-bed dorm, but you generally didn’t have to wait too long for the bathroom. The only issue was that it wasn’t always clean later in the night when I got home, but seemed to be regularly cleaned throughout the day. There’s no main light in the bedroom, but there is one on each bunk, along with a power point. Lovely cafe next door!

We're located in a charming lane, just five minutes' walk from Houhai Lake and 20 minutes from the Forbidden City. I recommend people definitely visit the web-like maze of Hutongs.
For fun our guests like to have some nice drinks and play the free guitar we have around here. We also serve Illy Coffee in our beautiful café. We cater to all ages and have baby chairs as well as wheelchair accessibility on the first floor. Gao Gao & Fei, Owners
