Property Description

Pickwick Hall provides accommodation for tourists, students and other people who require cheap, clean and attractive short or long-term lodging. We are situated in central London, in the famous area of Bloomsbury, where writers and artists have lived for centuries (Dickens for example). Pickwick Hall is in the perfect location, about a three minute walk from the British Museum and the University of London and about 10 minutes from the entertainment and shopping districts of the West End, Covent Garden, Soho and China Town, but in a quiet street of Georgian town houses.

There is easy and direct access from Heathrow Airport by tube (straight to Holborn Station on the Piccadilly line) or by A2 Airbus to Russell Square. Choose either 'en-suite rooms' (with their own private bathroom) or the less expensive 'standard rooms' (with showers and toilets shared with a limited number of other guests).

Whichever you choose, the rooms will be furnished and otherwise equipped to the same level of comfort. Bed linen and towels provided; washer and dryer available for your clothes; continental breakfast and kitchen available to prepare your own meals. There is a sitting room with cable television and high-speed Internet.

Our staff is on hand to answer your queries, speaking, Spanish and French and a high standard is maintained to ensure your stay with us is comfortable.

Being a small hostel you can expect personal attention and good accommodation at a reasonable price. View House Rules

A perfectly central location with brilliant local amenities. The National Museum and Welcome Gallery are in walking distance too. All the staff we met are knowledgeable and genuinely lovely. The rooms are very functional and kept clean, as are shower and bathrooms. I would heartily recommend pickwick hall.

Very quiet area. Very friendly people staying in hostel at the time I was staying. Very helpful with any and all info I had. Clean showers and bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. I loved how old and victorian style the house was. Very close to underground station. Russel park was very lovely to go, relax and have a picnic. I loved it. Did not want to leave.

Pickwick Hall is a nice quiet hostel in a superb location. The staff were nice and the room and bathrooms were clean and well equipped (although a bit dated). We had a fan, microwave and fridge in our room, which was awesome. Breakfast was standard toast and cereal and not too crowded. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing we weren’t super fond of was the carpet in the rooms because it feels a little dirtier than wood floors. Other than that we had a pleasant stay and would recommend!

The location is excellent and the hostel is perfectly fine - an ideal base for exploring London. Our room was compact but had everything you might need - fridge, microwave, table, etc., as well as a small en suite toilet and small, but excellent, ensuite shower. The breakfast was disappointing - just cereal and toast with jam or marmalade + tea/coffee, but Patrick and Alzira were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Pickwick Hall to everyone !

The location is great, which is super close to the British Museum. But overall, the hostel is kind of old. Bathroom and room are not super clean. There is no place to securely store stuff.

Overall the staff is nice and helpful. The room I was in was on the 3rd floor, there is no lift nor A/C. The carpet is gross and overall the place smelled stale. My biggest issue however was the people I roomed with in that they didn’t want to turn the fan (provided) on because it was “loud”. The room because of summer and lack of A/C was probably upwards to 80’ (26’) and thus just impossible for me to sleep in. I ended up checking out early and into a hotel.
