I'll be back. Very friendly owner! I had a private room that was a bit modest, but had everything I needed, and love the location. Quiet residential street next to Russell Sq park with a fountain and Caffe Tropea for coffee. Breakfast lunch and gelato. Near British Museum and a 15-20 min walk to theaters, the river, etc

I had a lovely stay at Pickwick Hall. I couldn't believe how fantastic the location was, so convenient for getting around and especially nice to be walking distance after seeing a show in the evening. The hosts were an absolute delight, and made me feel so warm and welcome in the space. The shared spaces (lounge and dining room) were neat and cozy, and had a spot to cook and store food, which is always useful for a longer stay! Will definitely be staying here again when I visit London.

Great value for money for the central London location. Very clean and cosy. A bit run down like a big old town house. I was in London for work so arrived quite late and left in the morning so can't comment much on atmosphere as I didn't really see anyone, but it was an enjoyable stay with friendly staff and I would stay again.

It was absolutely perfect for my two days working up in London. Brilliant location, very clean and Patrick made me feel very welcome both after I booked and when I arrived. Ideal if you just need somewhere to rest your head.

Great location and price, but room left a fair bit to be desired. Lots of marks and holes in the carpet, and only one very thin pillow per bed. The bathroom was quite dirty. The toilet bowl was very stained, and the tiles and shower curtain were quite mouldy. I would happily go back just because the price and location were excellent, but I'd hope there's a bit of a spring clean before then!

+ very friendly staff, excellent location/convenience - old rowhouse neighborhood and the inside is musty and fatigued (some might say charming?)

Positives: location, quiet atmosphere, not a party hostel. Had kitchen and sitting room to myself every evening throughout my stay where I could relax and work. Owners are polite and helpful. Negatives: interior is old and generally not clean. Cleaner does not do a thorough job at all. My bathroom was not cleaned and bin was full for days until I brought up the issue. Saw a mouse twice in the communal areas. Breakfast cereals and breads left out in open where mice could have got into.
