Property Description

Pickwick Hall provides accommodation for tourists, students and other people who require cheap, clean and attractive short or long-term lodging. We are situated in central London, in the famous area of Bloomsbury, where writers and artists have lived for centuries (Dickens for example). Pickwick Hall is in the perfect location, about a three minute walk from the British Museum and the University of London and about 10 minutes from the entertainment and shopping districts of the West End, Covent Garden, Soho and China Town, but in a quiet street of Georgian town houses.

There is easy and direct access from Heathrow Airport by tube (straight to Holborn Station on the Piccadilly line) or by A2 Airbus to Russell Square. Choose either 'en-suite rooms' (with their own private bathroom) or the less expensive 'standard rooms' (with showers and toilets shared with a limited number of other guests).

Whichever you choose, the rooms will be furnished and otherwise equipped to the same level of comfort. Bed linen and towels provided; washer and dryer available for your clothes; continental breakfast and kitchen available to prepare your own meals. There is a sitting room with cable television and high-speed Internet.

Our staff is on hand to answer your queries, speaking, Spanish and French and a high standard is maintained to ensure your stay with us is comfortable.

Being a small hostel you can expect personal attention and good accommodation at a reasonable price. View House Rules

Very comfortable hostel! The food options are minimal but the hostel is centrally located and very well connected by the tube. There were no privacy safes or lockers that I could find but as I was staying for a single day these were not required for me. Appeared to be a hostel geared at women staying for longer periods of time.

Patrick the host was very welcoming and pleasant, the rooms are basic as you'd expect, but absolutely spotless, also there is a microwave and fridge, beds are very comfortable, linen spotless too. Location is fantastic and I'll definitely be stopping again, fantastic value for money!

Lovely relaxing stay at Pickwick House. Would definitely stay again as such good value for money for such a central location. Decor a little dated but it gives the place charm and didn't bother us in anyway. Would definitely stay again!

Pickwick Hall is in a fabulous location, easily accessible by tube. Our room had a sink and a fan, very welcome in hot weather. The breakfast was always good. We would stay there again!

We were met by the owner who was very nice. The location is ideal, very close to the British Museum, tube stations and a short walk from restaurants and pubs. It is an old building, but everything is kept clean. Breakfast is toast and cereal.

Fantastic location and service. It's an old building full of character -- great price with the British museum and tube stops right around the corner. Love the books on site, friendly staff, and the convenient sink, fan and fridge in room. Facilities (mainly carpet/beds/paint) really need an upgrade. Old world charm in a booming city!

Good value for money and great location. Staff very good during week, especially Patrick; not so much on weekends. I'd go back.

Positives about this hostel: it’s central, easy to get to and cheap. Negatives about this hostel: it’s run down and feels grubby to be honest. The member of staff I met did not have particularly good customer service skills. The women in my dorm seemed to be staying there more long term, although this isn’t an issue in itself it felt as if I was encroaching on their home. And lastly I got bitten whilst I was there, I’m not sure if this was an issue with the cleanliness of the hostel or not.
