My first piece of advice is DONT BOOK THROUGH THE WEBSITE! They recently changed their policy and you pay more for the room than if you call the hostel directly. There’s also more options for rooms if you call them directly. We paid an extra $12 per night through the website for a mixed dorm. As for the hostel, the kitchen was fully stocked. Really great to have the free coffee in the morning. You definitely need a car in Hawaii but it’s still close to attractions. The staff was really nice.

A quiet and laid back place, small town feel; the facility is clean, a helpful staff, and reasonably valued. About an hour away from the airport but a nice drive. A walking distance (i was told that it's about an hour steep hike back up) to captain cook snorkeling site, was also told that it's the best snorkeling site in town. However, I have to find out for myself the information the next time around because I was not able to go. Will definitely stay here again on my next visit. Thank you!

Even though the first encounter was a bit unpleasant generally the whole stay in the hostel was great: nice atmosphere, clean rooms and other shared spaces, great ocean view from the patio. I’d definitely recommend this place.

The girl Sophia who worked there was so friendly and helpful! I booked a night snorkeling with manta ray trip through the hostel who offer a reduced rate which saves you about $70, so I would recommend that to anyone - it's well worth the money!! The rooms were great and there was a lovely covered outdoor seating area with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. I would recommend that you have a car to stay here though as it's driving distance from most places.

It‘s a very nice hostel. We had a private room bathroom ensuite. The only minus is the distance to Kona. You can‘t really go out and drink, because you have to drive.

This hostel was a comfortable, clean spot to lay my head. The quiet hours are well-observed, so it is quite a peaceful stay, even on the weekends. The facilities are nice and clean. It is a bit further from Kona than I expected (my own fault for not doing a proper maps-search), but totally manageable with a car. Would stay again.

We booked a private room & they gave away our room to someone else prior to check in. We were placed in a random room connected to a corridor with a sliding entrance door facing the street & parking lot. It was “locked” via a chain with a padlock. The corridor had huge windows with no drapes so anyone could just look in. While we were inside, multiple ppl tried to open the sliding door thinking it was the front office! It was creepy & not private at all! It was loud with traffic noise all nite!

I dont know HOW this hostel has the highest rating on the Kona side!!! I walked in and say I have a booking and get told oh I am sorry you dont I need some sort of confirmation, let me call someone that might know something.. Showers close at 10, oh wait EVERYTHING is closed at 10. My room turns out to be a block glass window that looks into the kitchen and the hallway , so fire happens I die. Ask for a roomkey you dont need one everything is safe, everytime I walked in there was no one ever!
