I absolutely loved my time here at Pinewood. I was booked for a six-bed but was given a four-bed, awesome! They have a spa you can hire privately for 30min @ $10, excellent idea! You can hire a bike, book activities and have a great chat. They have everything you would need and more. They are friendly, hospitable and a great distance from town. The kitchen is a little small around dinner time, but for a max of 12 people, the two bathrooms was perfect. Would totally stay here again

Very nice, clean hostel, very modern clean facilities. Not the best location for the town centre due to the large hill walk up to the hostel, but nice and close to supermarket and gondola. Really nice bike rentals onsite too. Only bad thing, beds quite cramped into the room.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pinewood. We had a private room in the M building. Bathrooms and kitchen were always clean, and the room itself was comfortable. We had some issues with a day trip we booked and staff were very helpful -- they let us use the phone to call and sort things out, and then also helped us book an alternative activity through their sales rep. Only issue was the wifi, it's pretty spotty at times and slow, but we didn't go to Queenstown to be online.

Nice living area but the living room was cold!, we had a 3 bed dorm which was cosy but I felt the other person may have felt a bit uncomfortable staying in such a small room with a couple.

It’s a big holiday park with many houses. My house felt like a hostel - there are 4 rooms a 6 beds, kitchen, common room, bath. The atmosphere was a bit weird. It’s not a typical backpacker hostel. No one used the kitchen, no one was hanging in the common room. Wi-Fi was really bad, but all in all it was a good stay.

Room was fine. The colour of the room - brown could be repainted to give the room a lift. Main issue was the dank smell of old fried oil that permeated the whole kitchen. Suggest an expelair to clear the cooking smells or frequent deoderising Paul and Gill

They have no recycling! If it wasn’t for this fact I would leave a positive review for their basic but acceptable and cheap facilities, but no recycling?? In 2019 if you can’t take the most basic and simple responsibility for your environmental impact then that is just plain lazy and unacceptable.

+ Clean + Well equipped kitchen + Quiet at night, had a good night's sleep - Very weird atmosphere, not social at all - seems more like a holiday village (lots of different small units/houses) than a hostel - The unit with 3 private rooms was very cold at night (lots of glass fronts, only small heater) - 15 min walk into town centre Overall ok, but I've seen other hostels in Queenstown with better value for money.

The staff were great! They accommodated us wanting to switch rooms due to a terrible long term guest in our room. Security is basically non-existent. There isn’t lockers in the room and most guests don’t seem to lock the door. We had labelled alcohol stolen from the fridge. Only one person can shower at a time or else it alternates between scalding hot and arctic. Parking is very tight. But walking distance to town was very reasonable. The atmosphere in our dorm was disturbed by a long stayer
