Overview

Embrace the cosy vibes and chilled atmosphere at Poramba Hostel, in a quiet neighbourhood close to the centre of Puerto Iguazú. Bring your beach gear and relax with fellow travellers by our outdoor swimming pool, or cook up a feast on the barbecue. We've got a pool table too! Each morning you'll get a free breakfast, and later you can grab drinks in the café, or Snapchat the sunset on our outdoor terrace with a cold beer from the bar (obviously!). There's also a friendly lounge area with a TV and music.

Location

We're only four blocks (about a 15-minute walk) away from Terminal de Omnibus de Ciduad de Puerto Iguazú, the main bus station, making it easy to explore. Touching down at Cataratas del Iguazú Airport? There's a bus that takes you straight to the hostel in about 30 minutes. There's plenty of bars, shops and restaurants just a 10-minute stroll away in the downtown area. The famous Iguazú National Park is only a 22-minute bus journey away too.

Rooms and Dorms

All our rooms come with their own private bathroom. You'll have your own locker and free linen, so you can give your sleeping bag a rest. Need a fresh towel? You can hire one at our 24-hour reception. Thanks to our air con, you'll keep cool if a heatwave hits. Choose from shared dorms, or double, triple or quadruple private rooms.

Very picturesque and overall good chill vibes. Super helpful staff. The amenities themselves weren’t in the best condition (pretty dirty bathroom, broken shower door). Definitely a great deal though!

Nice hostel. This hostel is relatively basic, but the staff are helpful and give good advice for visiting the falls. The breakfast is nice and it’s a great location. Only downsides are no lockers and only one key per room which is left at reception (so if you are sharing you have to trust your roomies not to steal your stuff). There are a few common areas and the rooms were clean (although the bedding was a bit old and pillows were stained with no real covers). Overall it was fine for 3 nights.

the place is okay, however, you cannot buy drinks outside and you are obliged to buy the few and expensive options from the hostel bar.

Stayed in a private double. Room was very basic and generally old looking, although it did appear to be clean. A/c worked well but we were afraid to use fan as it didn’t seem very secure on the ceiling. Breakfast was ok, no fruit and location also ok.

While the staff tried their best, the facilities we dirty. Mouldy walls and hairs all over the bathroom greeted us on arrival and pillows that smelt like they belonged to Fat B**** prompted us to use our sleeping bag liners. As well as this, the bathroom light did not work properly and there was no hot water. Big thanks to staff member who helped us when the air con turned off at 2am because of a power failure. We would also like to give a shout out to Bob, our cockroach friend.

Probably the worst hostel I’ve stayed in during my South American trip. Rooms was tiny, the pool looked very unclean and the breakfast was terrible. They might as well not have WiFi, who wants to upload their Iguazú falls pictures anyway 🥴

Poramba Hostel wasn't quite what we had hoped for. My past experience of South American Hostels has always been pretty good and so we were disappointed that it didn't live up to our expectations. We had a private room which looked straight out onto the communal pool area and so as a result the room didn't feel very private at all. The bathroom was cramped and both the room itself and the bathroom didn't feel very clean. Staff were friendly enough and good location close to bus terminal.

I am afraid I can not recommend this property. Yes, the staff is nice and location is quiet but they have a serious cleanliness issue, given that I had to kill 3 big roaches in the bathroom of my private room. After that, everything else is not important anymore. I know it’s a tropical area in summer but still certain things are just not acceptable

This place was a disappointment. The room security was poor and could hear the people in the next room. The curtains were not good, so I had to always change in the tiny bathroom. The air conditioning didn't work (although thankfully the fan worked). My room was dirty with creepy crawlies all over the place, despite staff cleaning on a daily basis. But what was worse was the sound of what I thought were rats on the ceiling, all through the night! Maybe it wasn't rats but they were noisy.
