Very nice hostel in the heart of Sintra. The only downside was the bed that was uncomfortable but I was only staying for one night. the mattress needs replaced. and they charge for the towels! I was asking in the email before arriving if they provide the towel, they replayed that they do , no mention about the charge. If I knew about the charge I would have take my own. so a bit unfair.

Centrally located but very cramped, too many beds in one female dorm. Otherwise good hostel.

I stayed with a friend in the privates which are in a separate building a couple doors down from the Portuguese Hostel. The room was fairly nice with a skylight/window and comfortable beds. There was a kitchen with cooking equipment, fridge, etc. and common area available as well as a generous breakfast (not just cereal and toast). The cleaning/breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall good value and good experience.

Lovely staff members staying and a comfortable room to sleep in. There wasn't anywhere to lock valuable belongings nor anywhere to really store luggage so your trust is in the people staying in the dorm room. Not a bad location as it is near the train station but it is a 10min walk to the centre of Sintra town.

Nice hostel. The private rooms were in another building with pretty stairs. Good training when you have a big suitcase with you. ;) Breakfast was pretty good and the staff was kind. When we stayed there, there were some issues with the ladies bathroom lock. And it can feel kinda awkward to shower with someone using the toilet next to you, with just a curtain in front of the shower. It could use some more atmosphere, but it had all the basics you need!

From our group, some people got bitten by bed bugs in the big room. I seriously advise the hotel administration to do something about it.

Go to Casa Azul! When we arrived the girl who was working there told us that they overbooked the room so they degraded us to a dorm with more beds than the one we booked, when we said ok to that she said that room was also not ready they haven’t cleaned it yet so we asked for information about the area and she had no idea about anything, the breakfast was normal nothing special and then we decided to move to BLUE HOUSE hostel. It was better for the same price and the difference is unbelievable.

This is one of the worst hostels I have ever had the misfortune of staying in. In over 30 years. Hostels in Nepal in -10C better! 1) Dirty, filthy place 2) Bedbugs - 3) Unfriendly guests 4) A fellow visitor in my room who loved Hitler and stated this for 3 hours! 5) Damp and noisy room 6) A drying/shower room that did not work, towels still damp after 24 hours left in it 7) Wierd guests on balance 8) Some guests on drugs Shut the place down . Its awful . I would not recommend it to anyone.

Worst hostel I have ever stayed in. I’ve been travelling for 2 months now, and this is the first hostel where I’ve been bitten by bed bugs. Even when I showed the bug to the front desk girl, she kept on thinking it was strange. I had a bad allergic reaction to the bites and yet they refused to give me my money back. I had to argue for over an hour, with a person that thinks that not yelling means being respectful. Finally they reemboursed me, after being told I was not “raised right”. A disgrace
