Q4 was an amazing place to stay while I was in NYC really close to Times Square and the local finds were great, when I go back to NYC I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Good access from jfk airport. Very clean, good kitchen facilities. Downside... absolutely no where to put anything in the room.. few hooks, No hooks in bathroom so nowhere to hang towels or clothes. A chair or table would have been welcome. Had to arrange my bags on the floor and at $50 per night it would have been appreciated. The kitchen was very clean.. a bit too clean.. every time I was there there was a very strong smell of cleaning materials.. difficult when you want to eat.

I stayed in 8 bed dorm. Overall the stay was good. Hostel is right next to Queens Plaza subway station which is very convenient. The neighborhood was fine, I felt safe walking around alone. While value for price of a stay in this hostel is great, there were some negative things for me: shower had multiple permanent stains therefore it was unpleasant to use, room got very cold at night and thin comforters provided my hostel were not enough for me.

    Very Good

I spent only one night, the staff was nice and helpful, the room was clean, toilet in particular. I would suggest a heavier blanket for the bed, but anyway, if you dress not like summer you can sleep well.

The best thing about this hostel is the location. The bed and room were fine, but my biggest complaint is the lack of lockers. This is the ONLY hostel I've ever stayed at where there weren't enough lockers in each room for the number of guests. When I arrived all 6 in my 8-person dorm were being used, so I had to leave my valuables with the front desk staff overnight. Also, staff seemed pretty bored and uninterested whenever I saw them. Not the impression you want to have on guests.

Bathroom door in my room was cheap (you locked it with a hook, because it didn't really shut all the way), there was no private area between the room and the shower (meaning you had to undress in front of the other people in the room, or undress and dress in the shower itself), and despite 8 beds in the room, there was only 6 lockers, meaning 2 people were out of luck. Beyond that, the staff was chill, but not particularly welcoming. Not a big deal, but something that I personally noticed. Meh.

I've traveled half of the world, I've also been in cheap hostels in developing countries, but I've never seen such terrible accommodation conditions. In a small room 3x7m there are 4 bunk beds for 8 persons, but cabinets are only for 6 persons, without furniture, chairs, small space for everything. There is no shared kitchen on the floor or anywhere, where you could brew coffee and eat. They are not recommended in any case.
