    Superb

Anytime I’m in NY on a budget, I’m staying here. 10 min train ride to Midtown, rooms are great, bathrooms are clean. As a solo female, walk from the train to the hostel late at night was fine. No complains - being in LIC allows for way more space. Rooms have lockers, towel & linen provided. Common area + large kitchen in the basement. Expensive for what it is obviously but that’s NYC

    Fabulous

Right next to the the subway, so it’s super easy to get around. The Toilet and shower are inside the shared room (the shower illuminates the whole room so not so good when everyone’s sleeping) Not much social interaction in the lounge area, but it has a big TV, guitars for people to play, and a pillow room to relax in. Overall: good bang for your buck $

I was expecting bad things by just reading the reviews. And I ended up being surprised in a good way. The only thing that got me uncomfortable with was the front desk people. The owner really need to be working on that ASAP. I had experience with 3 of them, and only one was nice.

Very small room, tiny toilet - felt like the toilet I had at the army... can't even lean forward when sitting. Tiny sink as well. But - they had hot water in the bath... Also no lift, so need to take all the baggage to 3ed floor by hand... So not pretty good, but the cheapest I found (still super expensive), so it is what it is...

The people at the front desk are so rude! I checked in with a guy and he was so rude, I just wanted to know where the grocery store nearest was, and he told me 'just Google it'. It also seemed that anytime he had to actually work was an inconvenience. The rooms were very small but the beds were actually fairly comfy. Every morning I would find a few bugs crawling around in the bed, not sure if they were ants from somewhere or worse? This isn't a social hostel at all. Overall not a great stay.

It was a little unfortunate that the toilets and showers for doorms were included in the room and there was only one of each. I didn't want to take a shower after somebody fell asleep. People were somehow not as involved to do things together. The way the facility is structured, the common hall in the basement and males and females seperated, makes it so it's hard to meet the others. There were also no events hosted my the hostel. Staff was nice, but not very engaged to try and get to know us.

Rooms are small and there is no space for suitcases inside or outside the locker, no sockets or individual lighting!! Tiny baths. You can hear all the noises of the neighborhood: train, cars, music, people shouting.... The security does not seem sufficient for such an unsafe neighborhood but I have not had any problems. The kitchen is equipped but there is hardly any light, it is easy to fix this. In the surroundings there are supermarkets, cafes, rests, subway nearby and direct to the airport.

The staff here is VERY RUDE. Especially the bloke who checked me in (Detroit Tigers hat). The hostel is also too expensive and they love to nickel and dime you with taxes AFTER you check out. The rooms are clean (despite only one shower and toilet in a room of 8 guests) and the big basement downstairs is a good common area. But trust me, you can do much better in NYC than this piece of rubbish.
