The staff here are extremely accommodating. Every staff member I encountered always ended with me leaving on a positive note. I had a wonderful experience and will most definitely stay here again. If I was to give one point of criticism which I also noticed in other reviews is that it is fairly dark anywhere you go inside. Some led light bulbs I think would really brighten your day. Other than that small detail I have nothing bad to say about this place at all. 10/10.

Great place all-round. Nice huge common area downstairs, full kitchen, lots of space and couches to chill, ping pong and pool tables, they have a full bar open everyday. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We rented one of the family rooms, it was great for the 5 of us (myself and 4 friends). Plus it had a private bathroom with shower, lots of storage. Great price. Great location, easy to find and short walk to anything downtown, 10 minute drive to the hill. Quiet, private and safe.

The staff is very friendly and the place is very clean and safe! Huge kitchen area so it’s easy to cook even when it’s busy time. Never had to wait for a shower and cleaned them every day. Big dorms and huge locker for the luggages. Same thing for the mud rooms. Had enough space for all our equipment. Perfect Hostel! 👌🏼

I loved the shelves by each bed, very practical but please make the bunk bed ladders wider, boy they hurt my feet climbing them.. just saying!

Awesome stay in the off season! Can't imagine how great it must be during the winter. Can't wait to go back. Would have given perfect score but wish it had more parking. Staff was super nice. Rooms were clean. Cheap wine and beer at the pub.

Great chilled hostel off the main highway in Fernie. Good people and a good vibe, with a great bar. Shuttle runs just outside to and from the ski hill, making life quite convenient. Only downside was the lack of a proper boot room, with skis stored in a shipping container with a lock that would freeze up overnight.

Best (and only) hostel in town. The staff are super chilled and there is a general laid back atmosphere about the place. It's a clean hostel and boasts most of the features you would expect, including a sauna - didn't get a chance to use that while I was there though. There is storage for your snow gear, my only gripe is that it's stowed in an old shipping container outside the hostel, with a padlock that freezes every day in winter. Means you get to have fun with a blowtorch though!

    Very Good

Nice clean hostel, close to town centre. Kitchen is unequipped -no cutlery,no plates or cups 'due to covid' I thought that was a I take a spare kitchen set with me everywhere I go. The bar in the hostel seems to have no covid regulations at all with no social distancing and no masks.shame they don't focus more on that side of thing instead of stripping the kitchen of all its utensils.

Hostel was alright. A little disappointed that I booked 3 beds at the same time and we were all split up, including my partner who was put in a room with 5 guys. Even after we spoke to front desk they didn't want to do anything about it. I guess I'll need to call after booking to make sure that we're put together in the same room. We'll most likely avoid Raging Elk again unless we're solo. Not a hostel for couples. Location is decent, only a 15 minute walk to downtown Fernie.
