Clean, nice, fine price. Tiiiiiiiny bit out of the way, but not really a problem in Reykjavik especially if you're driving. Would recommend.

Nice rooms, clean kitchen, staff was very helpful. A bit of a bop from the downtown area but other than that really enjoyed my stay!

Room was clean and beds were very comfortable. A little out of the way from city center, but not too far. Breakfast was a little confusing when we couldn't go back to the lobby the way we came in--some more signage inside the dormitory area would be helpful.

Great hostel! Very clean bathrooms, a little far from the city center but still easily walkable (you just may be tired when you get back) Super helpful staff, would definitely stay there again.

    Very Good

It’s a good hostel but there’s not much going on. It’s a little outside the city center so you need to take the bus to get there. The staff however is wonderful. They’ll help you book tours. Make sure to get out of Reykjavik at least on a day trip because Iceland is beautiful. Everything there is expensive though, including the hostel. Would I recommend? Yes. Underwhelming at times but a solid place to stay.

    Very Good

BED BUG WARNING!! We stayed 2 nights and were very happy to get upgrades to a private double room. However, my friend had bed bug bites all over her arms and legs the next day. The guy at the desk said, “are you sure they aren’t mosquito bites?” There aren’t any mosquitoes in Iceland and they don’t look like mosquito bites. He said, “That’s weird because you’re the 5th person to say that.” THEN ITS NOT WEIRD and you shouldn’t try to dismiss what your guests are kindly telling you.

Customer service was poor. More employees needed for check in. Will never stay there again. Seemed old and worn but was clean.

Being a HI hostel I thought this would be a safe choice. It wasn’t a bad hostel, but there were a lot of things which could have been better. Kitchens are very small and not cleaned often. Beds not very comfortable. Lack of power sockets. Not the best location, about a 40 min walk to city centre or 20 mins by bus. Lots of things were old or broken. Reception isn’t always open and very few staff about. There are nicer hostels in Reykjavík, closer to the city for a similar price.
