Wonderful stay at this little gem close to the main square. Had originally only booked one night as weren’t sure if we would make it due to restrictions etc. Ended up prolonging our stay and returning for our final night in Marrakech. Very authentic, and Rachid will look after you very well. He is always bringing you tea, breakfast, offering to cook etc. A true gentleman! Our favourite part: the multiple little terraces where you can sit and relax, enjoy the sunset etc. Well done!

This hostel definitely exceeded my expectations. It was absolutely beautiful inside w/outdoor terraces & rooftop. It’s located extremely close (walking distance) to all of the main attractions of Marrakech. There was free breakfast in the morning w/coffee & tea (very filling & delicious) & the staff was beyond helpful. Zakkareah was always there to help us w/tips, directions, contacting taxi’s for us,etc. The experience wouldn’t have been the same without him hosting us!!

This Riad conquered my heart: it's small, quiet and an oasis of peace. The dormitory is simple, with a toilet and a shower but clean and comfortable. The view of the mountains in the rooftop is amazing and the best place to enjoy the sunset. The staff is a rare pearl. Zakaria and Khadija are really nice and friendly and I had the pleasure to enjoy their company. They helped me to book the trips and they gave me advice. But we also spent a lot of time talking and singing. Thanks Layla Rouge!

Very friendly staff, and very accommodating. Breakfast was good. The room didn't have any ventilation and the lock box is only large enough for small items, not your entire bag. Location is great and easy to find.

Pros: The hostel is easy to find on Lovely relaxing rooftop. Staff are friendly. Good location. There are small lockers in dorm Cons: The dorm is really dark. No natural light. The bathroom door means that everyone can hear what’s going on in there. I mean everything 😮 I personally found it quite cold and echoey, which I guess is typical of most riads. Had to wait half an hour for breakfast as staff were still sleeping at 8:30 (even though breakfast is to start at 6:30).

Riad Layla Rouge is conveniently located in a quiet side street in the heart of the Medina. The rooftop terrace is great for amazing views of the Medina and for meeting other travelers. Facilities are clean but rather basic, for instance, bathroom doors do not properly close in dorm rooms. Hostel staff is welcoming; however, more friendly when you show interest in tours, but becomes less friendly when you ask for information on bus schedules or when you do not immediately leave a good review.

There's no atmosphere or social vibe at all. (Quite common in Morocco...) Do not recommend for solo travellers. Staff was very cold and unfriendly. (Except girl that was there shortly, she's really kind!) Cleanliness is not great and facilities were poor. (No TP, no soap/ handtowels, dirty flors, okay shower, very hard bed.) Location was good. Little alleyway was a bit sketchy. I changed to Riad Dia (sister hostel)after two days - which is a lot more social and friendly. Cleanliness is similar.
