Overview

At Riad Verus hostel, you'll live like a local in an authentic – and beautifully decorated – riad. Chat to fellow travellers as you lounge on the cushioned seats in our courtyard under colourful lamps. It's a great place for a free cup of coffee, traditional Moroccan tea or a freshly squeezed orange juice. There's a free breakfast every morning too (think healthy and organic), served in our café-bar. And our restaurant's the venue for the family dinners we treat you to from time to time. For awesome views of the city, just wander up to our rooftop terrace and take it all in!

Location

The easiest way to reach us from Fès-Saïs International Airport is to take a taxi – the journey's about 30 minutes. Drop us an email and we'll organise one for you. We've got a fab location within the Medina walls, so the taxi will drop you off a 3-minute walk from our door. A 10-minute walk from the hostel will take you to the famous Bar Boulud (Blue Gate). Head for Place Seffarine in Souk Edlala – an 18-minute walk away – to try bartering for souvenirs as you wander the labyrinth of streets and stalls.

Rooms and Dorms

Meet new travel buddies while bunking in one of our mixed dorms. Some are en-suite and others have shared bathrooms with hot showers – all have storage lockers for backpacks. There are also private twin, doubles and quad rooms with en-suite. All rooms include free sheets and towels, and there's a daily housekeeping service.

Extras and activities

Our traditional-style house has modern touches, like Wi-Fi and air con – a must during the warm summer months. And we've got people here to help make your stay amazing! We have multi-lingual staff on reception, 24-hour security and we'll organise trips to the Sahara Desert or Monkey Mountain in Azrou. Or immerse yourself in the culture and join in with local experiences, from basic Arabic classes to cooking lessons with Mama Sadia.

I had an awesome stay at Riad Verus. The staff were great and Youssef went out of his way to help us find our way around the city and to organize buses. The hostel was beautiful and clean. There are pet turtles which is a plus. The breakfast is massive (you won’t need lunch). Great stay. Highly recommend.

Best riad during my time in Morocco. Only stayed a night but will def come back. The decor is intricate and the atmosphere is real chill - Lots of colour and cushions PLUS a two level rooftop terrace to kick back in. The beds are comfy AF, even in the dorms. Staff are hilarious. Don't be a gronk and they'll bend over backwards to help you out. Ahmed, Yusuf and Mo should have their own comedy special on Netflix. Just keep in mind there is a curfue between 12:00am and 8:30am.

Loved our stay. The hosts are lovely! Breakfast is huge and more varied than other hostel. Lots of people about. The roof top is amazing, sat up there for couple of hours just reading as the view is amazing! We paid for the bigger room with private toilet- which from what I can remember didn’t cost a lot more than the standard, it was definitely worth it! The little girl was so cute, having their family involved in the raid really makes it feel homely!

Great spot - close to the Médina but not in the middle of it, such that it’s a pain to find - and a very social environment. Lots of travelers meeting in the lobby and on the roof deck
