Every Backpacker's Dream! I loved staying at the Roatan Backpackers Hostel. The whole atmosphere was very friendly, it had a homey feel and there was a brilliant sense of community. Mel and her staff do an excellent job to make sure your stay is comfortable and everything runs smoothly! I don't have a large enough character count for a thorough review, but this was the best hostel that I have every stayed at. I am a female travelling alone, and would recommend this accommodation to anyone!

This hostel is a wonderful choice for your stay in Roatan! Mel is absolutely lovely and helps you with everything. She even offered to take me to the airport herself in case I couldn‘t get a taxi at 6 am so I could be relaxed knowing that I have a plan B just in case. The hostel is just as lovely as the host: clean, well organized and somehow made with love. A little bit like home.

Everyone at the hostel was very friendly and help you out. Mel sent out an ~10 page long list of things to do in Roatan, which made planning your trip so much easier. This was the nicest hostel I stayed in during my time in Honduras.

Wonderful backpackers that has a real family feel. Lots of people stay longer than they intend here and hats coz it has a great vibe. The kitchen is small for the number of people who wish to use it, but there is a pool and everyone has their own fan in the rooms so that all works out on the pros and cons. Thanks for such a nice stay!

This was a nice hostel, bit out of the way and would probably choose to stay in West End next time just for convenience, but that saying, the actual hotel was good! Rooms were hot but the pool was a great addition as was the owner Mel :) very helpful!!

Just a quick stop in Roatan before our flight. Lovely host who gives lots of information. Really clean hostel and well thought-out. We liked that the bunks are like little pods with individual fans and sockets.

I didn’t stay at any other hostels in roatan but compared to Utila the hostel was dirty - the showers were absolutely disgusting. The location was alright, it’s only a 20-30 lempira ($1) collectivo or taxi to the more busy West Bay but I would recommend staying there so it’s in walking distance. Security was sub par.. the place is always open and there are no keys provided or lockers so essentially anyone can enter

Expensive for what was there. Owners give a lot of advice which was helpful but can be overbearing. We organized a tour for ourselves for a day and she tried to invite people to come along with us. Had to switch rooms mid way because her dog was barking, keeping us up for a night, and that was the solution to the situation. Got switched to a smaller room with cockroaches and blood stains on the mattress and bedding. Stayed in many hostels and this one was definitely not a positive experience.
