Property Description

Rusty Keyhole Kep is an French and Khmer run business - the sister guesthouse to Kampot's famous Rusty Keyhole restaurant, and you will find that our well stocked bar, friendly staff and good tunes make the perfect atmosphere for getting to know your fellow traveler and is a popular watering hole for Kep and Kampot dwellers too. Our great value menu offers excellent breakfasts, satisfying British and Asian dishes and of course our speciality barbecue ribs!

Kep is a beautiful district, so why not hire a bicycle and pedal along the coast and stop at the beach, then after a dip in the sea, you can enjoy fresh blue crab, straight from the sea and barter for Kampot pepper at seaside market. Visit fruit, cashew and pepper plantations on a countryside trip, with abandoned colonial houses, pagodas, butterflies, birds & wonderful natural scenery.

Rusty Keyhole Kep is just a few minutes drive from the Rabbit Island pier, or for more of Kep's enviable fresh air and views, the National Park offers a number of popular nature treks which begin just in our front yard - or you may choose just to sit back in a hammock here at Rusty Kep with a fresh mango juice and enjoy the view.

Simple, well built traditional Khmer huts set in a lovely garden. Huts have clean bathrooms, comfortable beds and hammocks out front. The restaurant sells a good range of well prepared Khmer, French and Western foods. Management and staff are very friendly and helpful. Good WiFi. Bus tickets with pickup can be arranged. Motorbikes for hire and good bicycles can be hired from Kep market just down the road.

I had a lovel stay at rusty keyhole, rustic would be the word but that’s just what I wanted, peaceful and quiet, a unique experience staying in the hut with a hammock to chill plus 2 beautiful dogs and a couple of very friendly cats to share the space with! The owners very friendly, great vibe and music. Would recommend.

Amazing accommodation for some chill time. The bungalows are equipped with everything you need, ensuite bathroom, fan, washing line, towels, mosquito net, balcony and hammock! The staff and so nice and will do almost anything for you, my friend became really ill while we was here and the owner took her to the chemist to get some medicine! The only downside to this place is that it’s very far away from everything and there’s no tuk tuks nearby so you have o be willing to hire a moped

Loved my time at rusty key hole. The family that run this place are lovely, so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to talk to everyone. Basic but beautiful bungalows, a bit out of town but it made the place so much better in my opinion because was so quiet. On a night no light pollution and the only noises you can hear are the local wildlife. Amazing food.

very nice hostel to chill a few days in kep. a bit further out of town, but that's completely fine, there is not much to see in town and you can grab bicycles for free in the hostel. nice bungalows for a good price. food is a bit expensive but if you go down the road you can find cheap eats.

Very basic bungalows with lots of bugs as it’s out in the middle of nowhere, but was kept clean. Would’ve been a better stay if the staff were friendlier/more helpful. I recommend it for older couples over younger

The stay was alright, bungalow good value and apart from dogs barking at night it was pretty peaceful. My main issue is upon checking out the owners tried overcharging us by not taking into account the deposit we paid on hostel world. When we told them we already paid $2.70 towards the booking they wanted to round it down to a $1 deposit because 'hostel world charge them fees'. So be careful if you book via hostelworld as they'll likely try charging you more than the price quoted.
