Ocean Safari offers an exhilarating ride to snorkel the pristine untouched Great Barrier Reef off the Daintree Coast at Cape Tribulation. This half day eco tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. After a fast 25 minute ride, you are ready to snorkel two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. On most days, the rainforest can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef alongside sea turtles, which are found in abundance swimming over reefs full of colourful coral, along with myriads of tropical fish, eagle rays, giant clams and starfish.

The tour begins at Cape Tribulation beach where you board the vessel bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. The Ocean Safari vessel takes a maximum of 25 passengers allowing you to experience tropical paradise and the pleasure of a small group. The vessel is based on the original design of a rescue craft and is a rigid inflatable boat driven by 700hp engines.

The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree, two world heritage areas side by side. Magical memories like these sometimes only happen once in a lifetime.

Stayed for 2 nights and it was amazing. Very clean especially for being in a rainforest. Staff were lovey and helpful. Beds were comfy. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautifull, really clean, not noisy (the noises you hear are from the rainforest). Only cons: the 4 beds dorm is small and the bunk beds are low (I'm small and couldn't fit seated on the lower bed). The water is not drinkable and it's not well indicated. Good to know : Dont expect a fully furnished kitchen, but the kitchen compound is pretty nice with burners, refrigerator, freezer...

Really bad WiFi. You have to pay 5$ for 100mb, but I think that you don’t get 100mb rather less.

    Very Good

    15 Feb 2018
The room was great, and nice open space to do your own cooking. Make sure you bring your own food, because there is really only one restaurant, and no where to buy groceries. The pool was fine, but super warm. The bathrooms are shared with everyone, but clean and the showers were great. There isn’t a ton to do here so don’t plan to stay for too many nights.

The dorms are really good but the staff (moreover in low season) is not often available. But after this, the pool is good, bathroom perfect and well kitchen. Thanks Safari Lodge

We found the place over priced. The facilities relating to self catering in the shared area were barely adequate for low season, it must be a shocker in any other season. Next to no cutlery, bring your own.
