Hostelworld says

Safestay Gothic is in Ciutat Vella district, very near Museu Picasso, Jaume I metro stop and Barcelona Cathedral, and about 15 minutes' walk to the beach, the aquarium and the Maremàgnum. We like their 'cubicle' style of bunk beds which create a little personal space in large dorm rooms, with privacy curtains, reading lights and power sockets. Many of our guests say they also appreciate the breakfast and the hostel's rooftop terrace.

Barcelona is a city of charming streets, busy with people and full of life. The old town, comprising the Gothic quarter, the Rivera and Raval districts, is famed for its historical monuments, narrow streets and bohemian atmosphere. The city also has the biggest selection of modernist architecture; most of these buildings are in the Eixample district which constitutes a unique model of European urban planning.

Barcelona is the only European capital with over four kilometres of beaches where you can enjoy the most modern amenities and these beaches are not far from Barcelona's historical landmarks, and they have opened up our modern and cosmopolitan city to the sea.

The Safestay Gothic is one of the Safestay Hostels all around Europe.

Persons under the age of 18 are only allowed to stay in private rooms or dormitory rooms that are booked for use of one family or group of persons, and can't share dormitory rooms with other guests. People under 18 years of age must travel with their parents or legal tutor. View House Rules

    - Beds have curtains so nice and private - chargers by beds - working WiFi - central location - electronic key cards and 24/7 reception - rooftop terrace Only things are that due to being the city centre, it’s further from the beach, and we joined in a social which cost €15- was told it included dinner, activities and club entry but we then had to buy our a drink to get the dinner and pay for our own beer for the beer pong.

Safestay Barcelona Gothic is definitely one of your average hostels. I, personally, found no real sociable aspect to this hostel but I have to say it is in a decent area and close to the metro station.

Great location, but hostel itself is a little generic. Didn’t feel like a place you would wanna spend your time in, if that makes any sense.

So Safestay Hostel Barcelona is in a great location, right in the Gothic Quarter, 5 min walk to the harbor and loads of other tourist attractions, your day can be easily spent within walking distance from hostel, in the evening Las Ramblas is a ten minute walk where you can simply watch the transformation of this area upon nightfall, shopping district becomes lively night spot with street entertainers and much else, drugs and prostitution is available here also. No sockets by bed in hostel !

The beds were worse than sleeping on the floor. You can hear drunk people on the street and the cleaning and garbage pick up, LOUDLY all hours on the night. People kept snoring People come in at all hours of the night turning on the lights and making noise. Very disrespectful of the other guests. Got a total of 3 hours of sleep over 2 nights. Was not allowed to sleep on the couch in the common area during the day! Rude! All in all a horrible experience. Pay up for a hotel people.
