The spacious Hostel Pisa is one of the city's comfiest and most popular places to throw down your backpack. Our open-air terrace is always busy with travellers enjoying a cool beer from the 24-hour bar or hanging out watching a match on the huge projector screen – it's like our own private cinema! Whether it's for breakfast, lunch or dinner (or some strong Italian coffee after a night out) our laid-back cafe offers a bargain-price menu – it's the ideal spot to sit and jump on some free Wi-Fi too.

If you fly into Pisa Airport you can walk to the hostel in 30 minutes or take a train for 7 minutes into Pisa Centrale Train Station – we're a 6 minute stroll away. To get a photo at the must-see leaning tower, take the E3 bus from Via C.Matilde 62 for 13 minutes or enjoy a 30 minute stroll across the Arno river. A 10-minute walk away from us is the main street, Corso Italia (it's filled with shops and has lots of little streets leading off it with loads of cool bars and restaurants).

Rooms and Dorms

We're all about the social side but we like our comforts too. Our dorms include clean sheets, air con and en-suites with hot showers. Each bed has its own power socket, too. You'll also have a locker to store your bag in while you're out – just bring a padlock or buy one at reception. Towels can be hired from us too, if you need one.

Extras and activities

Unwind in our spacious common areas and share some of your funniest travelling stories with other backpackers over a game of pool, table football or ping pong. We've also got a guitar and piano for you sing along – to the chorus, of course – of classic tunes. Our multi-lingual staff on the 24-hour reception make checking in and out easy whatever time it is and we have luggage storage, too. There's also an elevator so you can skip the stairs.

This hostel is amazing for a night or two in Pisa. Very close to the train station (less than 10 minutes) and a 20 minute walk to the leaning tower. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the downstairs cafe is a plus. Also the place was very clean. No complaints :)

The great thing about the hostel was the buffet dinner, it was very well made and ample amount of choices, pisa didn't have much to offer but my stay at the hostel made it worthwhile

Really enjoyed SafeStay. It’s in a fantastic location, has a cafe downstairs that is 24 hours, and the option of a buffet dinner for those lazy or rainy nights in. There is live music during the evening, but it’s not a party hostel whatsoever. Just a chill atmosphere. Amenities are old but in decent condition, I did find that both showers I had while here there was no hot water left, so that was a bit annoying. But otherwise, really nice and convenient hostel.

The staff is very kind, the room was great. The only problem is that there is no cutterly or anything to cook in in the kitchen.

Overall a very great stay. Booked last minute. By far cheapest hostel I've stayed at, and it was on par with one 2-3 times its price. Staff was very friendly. Lockers didn't have locks but maybe I just missed the part about how to get one or use the lockers. Dinner buffet for 8 euros, another big value for money, they just didn't refresh it after like 9:00 pm. Overall I'd definitely recommend.

    Very Good

This hostel is perfect for getting to the train station/airport. We stayed here when we had an early morning flight and it was perfect. A very basic hostel, but offered all the necessities (nothing more). A short walk to the city centre. For the price, I would definitely stay here again.

The Hostel Staff have so much confusions among themselves. I paid for my buffet twice and they didn't return my deposit because of their confusion and still when I call them they are always like, " I'll ask my manager about it or we'll look into it." They are not eager to help you. The room was also smelling like hell.
