fantastic place, would recommend to anyone traveling through tokyo. my only recommendation is to spend that extra bit and get a single room as the dorms can be difficult to sleep in if youre not prepared.

The hotel is located in a great area and for a reasonable price! The affiliated restaurant cafe is open 24hrs and serves good food at cheap prices. The staff were very friendly and the check-in and check out process was quick and easy. The rooms and bathrooms were also extremely clean and the lounge area was comfy to hang out in with friends.

This is a classic hostel dorm room with bathrooms and sinks outside of the dorms, everything was good and clean, staff are extremely friendly and helpful and it’s a 5 min walk for a major station (jr and metro). Would definitely book again if I wanted to stay in ikebukuro!

I would recommend this hotel for solo travelers, men or women. The private rooms were clean, and has both a minifridge and a smartphone for guests to borrow. Room is comfortably sized for one person. Friendly staff who spoke good English. Location @ Echika side of Ikebukuro Stn (opposite of Sunshine City), and about 5 min to Echika station entrance/exit. Lots of places to shop/eat. Location felt safe at 11pm. NO in-room safes and NO clothes storage (NO closet/drawers).

Good place to stay for couple of nights! Two common areas where you can take your own food and drink, no lockers in the 4 bed dorm we stayed in. No party atmosphere, although we did not try very hard to meet people.

Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro has a great location, aprox. 5 mins to Ikebukuro Station, great valve for this alone. Although their cafe/restaurant opposite the hotel is convenient, the food wasn't that great, I'd suggest dinning elsewhere. Since it's located in a busy town, there're people kept coming and going, which is great if your plan is to make new friends. The rest of the hotel is pretty mediocre, basic facilities as listed in the website. There're no lockers, so lock your stuff.

The girls dorm was filthy, there were mounds of dust around the edge of the room. It's also really small and hard to move around. They allowed someone to check in at 2am and the women made an immense amount of noise. Overall not a great experience.
