-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sakura La An occupies the renovated top floor of a 50-year-old retro building dating back to 1964, the year of the Tokyo Olympics.

Our common area has a sunny terrace and garden, where guests can help themselves to coffee or green tea and enjoy our small library of books on Japanese art, architecture, pottery, tea ceremony (chanoyu), traditional kaiseki meals, and other traditional arts and crafts. Cultural experience programs for tea ceremony, kimono-dressing, and calligraphy are available (additional fees apply). A combined kimono-dressing and tea ceremony program is offered in our tranquil tatami-floored tearoom.

Sakura La An is more than just a place to sleep – it is ready to ensure that your stay is fun-filled and memorable. We look forward to ichigo ichie (一期一会) - the central concept of the tea ceremony, meaning“a once in a lifetime encounter”– and welcoming you to Osaka. View House Rules

The hostel was immaculate. They had all the amenities one could ask for. The common areas were relaxing and comfortable. The whole space was beautifully decorated. The dorms are capsule beds and are very comfortable. They provide the bean type pillows that are common in Japan. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would gladly go back.

The private Twin room was very very spacious, recently renovated and very clean. Ken always goes above and beyond when you have any inquiries about places to eat and best places to buy particular items and always makes sure we get the best out of our holiday. I have stayed here on 3 separate occasions and will continue to come back for the great service and friendly atmosphere that we receive from staying at Sakura La An.

What a wonderful cute little hostel! As with all Japanese hostels, the place was immaculate. Simply sparking. Lovely rooms, the bathrooms were great and came with amenities, peaceful and perfect for one night. Not a party hostel at all, but met some cool people over breakfast. Highly recommend!

Though in a slightly tricky spot to get to and find when first arriving from Osaka Station, this Hostel was incredible value for money. All doors were locked with good security, the rooms were large and had couches and a small fridge, the common spaces were lovely and everything was very clean and tidy. Amenities were good and staff spoke perfect English and were very friendly.

The place is good, although because of the Corona situation we were never welcomed nor greeted for everyone left early that day. If you want to eat and drink, the location is great. The facilities are pretty good, but we didn’t have breakfast or anything, so if you’re on a budget there may be other options as good as this one.

Was a great place to stay. Very close to the JR Osaka Loop line, which is very handy if you have a JR pass. The beds are extremely private & the lockers in the dorms are very generous. The kitchen area was a bit hard to cook & eat in, but was very clean.
