Anna is an amazing person who runs the hostel and takes care of its guests! The place itself for me was very poetic, I loved staying there. Location is perfect, few minutes to the sea, the town is super cute as well. Breakfast did not really suit my preferences but there is a kitchen where you can cook your own food. So not a problem at all! If I was in Gozo again, I would definitely come back to stay at Santa Martha. Thanks for a warm welcome Anna!

I stayed here predominately because I was diving out of Marsalforn and wanted something close to the dive shop. I stayed for two nights in a single room. The room was clean and adequate for my needs! There is a shared bathroom but I never ran into lines or queues. As others have mentioned, it is less of a 'hostel' social feel and more of a quieter hotel feel. If you are looking for a quite couple of days in a small, local beach town, this is the place for you! Maria's hostel was a perfect place to retire after a day of hard traveling. Even if it was hot outside, it was cool inside. Or cool outside, warmer inside. Maria herself was kind and gracious and helpful. She always had a kind word and good advice. I felt really sad to be leaving what had started to feel something akin to home. Breakfast is included and there was always friendly people in the hostel. Thankyou, Maria!

Don’t be put off from the outside. I thought it had closed down as I walked up the road!! It’s very much open and Maria is a lovely hostess. With a warm welcome and lots of suggestions of where to go and what to do on the island.

The hostel is a short walk from the waterfront (lots of restaurants, etc) as well as a couple of bus stops going to Victoria and the ferry terminal, making it very easily accessible. Maria was a great hostess and you could tell she works very hard maintaining the hostel by herself. However, for the solo travelers, don't expect it to be like the hostels around Sliema/St Julians, it felt more like a B&B because it was very quiet.

This hostel is not great for solo travelers as there is no atmosphere and it’s a very quiet and bare building. The facilities were basic but adequate. The owner Maria was a nice lady and was accommodating. Overall, I think in the high season this hostel would be great as the location is perfect but in low season it was a bit of a ghost town which made my stay a bit uncomfortable.

Not a hostel for solo travellers. There is zero atmosphere. The owner is super lovely anf it was very nice to have a private room. However, on my last day there a rat ran between my feet while i was cooking and that ruined the hostel for me.

This hostel is falling apart and you can hear every word someone says and every step someone takes. Located on a dodgy street

The whole house was freezing, colder than the outside. One of the nights we spent there was really windy and the door was opened for a good part of the night slamming the door all the time. I found the vibe not welcoming either. Maria was very nice but checking on us too much. Also we couldn’t leave out luggage on the reception on our departure day as she said she was closing that day, not that it was her fault but she wasn’t very helpful and it affected our trip.
