Overview

Bienvenidos, or 'welcome' to Mexico and Selina Cancún! Make a splash in our spacious swimming pool or simply bask on the terrace while sipping a cerveza with lime from our bar. Browse the free Wi-Fi while you're at it. Need a break from the sun? Our indoor common areas – including a movie room – are the places to be. We've got a yoga deck as well, so you can zen out before a night of watching our live music performances!

Location

We're a 21-minute drive from Cancún International Airport, so you can step off your morning flight and be on the white-sand beaches of our Caribbean coastline by lunch. The ADO bus station – where the transport from the airport will drop you off – is a 4-minute walk from the hostel. Avenida Carlos Nader, a street packed with cool bars and bustling markets, is less than 10 minutes away on foot too.

Rooms and Dorms

You'll find en-suites with most of our private rooms and dorms (mixed or female-only). Linen's included, so you can save your cash for exploring the caves at Xcaret Park. You'll also get your own locker and light. You can rent a towel from reception if you're in a dorm – and they're included in the price if you get a private room. Air con means you stay cool in summer, and we've got hot showers to welcome back from days spent trekking in the jungle.

Extras and activities

Try your hand at tacos in our equipped kitchen come dinnertime. If you're not much of a chef, you can order a meal from our on-site restaurant or browse our vending machines. Chat to other travellers over dinner, then invite them to play board games or foosball. Want to know the top cave pools to swim in and beaches to visit? Ask our friendly staff at the travel desk or 24-hour reception. We also have round-the-clock security to keep you and your stuff safe.

Perfect location for the bus station! A little far from the beach, but makes a great stopover location. Super clean, really nice staff, and delicious food.

We just stayed for one night before leaving and wanted to be close to the ADO, for which this place was the best option. Pretty much the same as other Selinas, nice and clean, friendly staff. Food was ok. Comfy bed.

Great room and beds, and nice hangout area by the pool. The place feels a bit dead though and not a great place to meet other people. Big shoutout to Pedro in the bar for the amazing drinks though!

The hostel was nice with lots of activities and community space. Wifi only worked in the reception area. Other guests at the hostel had no interest with socializing with one another. I find this is common at most Selina’s. Rooms were good but small so every move you can hear. Beautiful hostel though

Nice hostel but the dorm rooms aren't wonderful. Beds quite creeky and the fans are incredibly loud. Our AC kept turning off too which meant we had to get someone from the front desk to turn it back on again. The room had no control over this. Bathroom facilities in the dorms are average at best. The common area is big and spacious with a good pool and the food is very very nice. The staff were quite helpful too.

Not as nice as the photos. Lots of "social" activities that they advertise didn't happen (volunteer opportunities, salsa dance, DJ, and cultural experiences). Had difficulty getting more towels and toilet paper. Walls are paper thin and can hear someone using the restroom in another room. Wanted to leave early but they said it wasn't possible. Desk is 50/50 friendly/knowledgeable. They put us in the wrong room the moment we arrived. Kitchen reeks. Coffee shop is very friendly and nice.

Let's say whoever works in marketing for Selina does a great job. The hostels looks quite nice on the pictures but in reality is more like a hotel with 0 atmosphere. There are three big buildings. In my dorm the shower was not working. Luggage roo is too small. Everyone can walk inside the hostel, no one cares. The dorm was nothing special a bit smelly. The common bathroom was not very clean. To sum it up I didn't really enjoy my stay. Could be an option for a layover hostel as it's close to ADO

Worst staff. I stayed here for 3 nights in a private room, the first day the staff were so kind that I extended the extra 3 days, but I paid a penalty for the male staff who worked on 2/14 (Friday) and 2/15 (Saturday) night. Even if I had to cancel my stay for an additional 3 nights, I had to relocate, because the staff was pretending I couldn't understand that I wasn't good at English. He was teasing me too safely, so me and my wife moved to the hostel to avoid being ridiculed.
