Property Description

As Colombia’s shining jewel of art, culture and design, Medellin is hailed as the place to visit for every type of culture vulture out there, from foodie to fashionista, from hippie to hipster. At Selina Medellin, you’ll find a welcoming community of fellow travellers, fearless adventurers who are ready to help you take on this incredibly diverse city.

Despite the small-town feel of Medellin, this huge metropolitan city offers a bumper crop of museums, cultural centres, indie movie theatres, avant-garde restaurants and wine bars, and—of course—coffee shops. Most notable are the Museum de Antioquia and the MAMM (Museum of Modern Art). Those with a taste for nature can take a funicular ride up the mountains, stopping at the small communities along the way, or going straight to the top for gorgeous panoramic views and zip line rides.

Use our common areas to plan out your day and make new friends, shoot a friendly game of pool, or kick back with a good book. When you get hungry, all the inspiration you need can be found in our shared kitchen and when you need to get stuff done, check out our Wi-fi- equipped co-working room for instant productivity. Superb

I stayed at 6 separate hostels in Colombia, and Selina - Medellin was my favorite. While Selina is a chain, you know what you're getting with the experience. I have stayed in the Chapinero, Bogota location and the Medellin location blows Chapinero out of the water. It is close to all of the best restaurants and bars for nightlife in Poblado. The staff is made up of the friendliest and most warm people who are not solely there to party, and the rooms are extremely clean and modern.

Dormbeds are good with curtains for privacy. Everything was like expected. I wanted to leave one day earlyer and didn't get my refund for one day because that was their rule(even I checked out very early). I just think its a poor service... Next time I would book only one night and extend every day new if I'm not sure.

I am traveling as a solo traveler and Selina is really big and make things a little bit harder everyone just pass by and don’t stop for sharing. In my room 8beds dorm we don’t have private light like it’s supposed to be. And we ask one time to turn on the A/C and they say no! Not on your deal. Could be better but for 2 nights it’s ok!

You have to pay extra to access the co working space which many of the pics here are of 🤷‍♂️. Nice hostel tho, not quite as high of a quality as other Selinas I have stayed at. My room had no windows, the shower door was broken.

Location is good for the nice restaurants and bars around it. Out of the three nights we stayed the room or bathroom didn’t seem to be cleaned. No effort was made to fix the broken bathroom door which had clearly been like that for awhile and is an easy fix. They have a kitchen that had everything. Not a bad place to stay at all however there are better hostels in the area.

    Very Good

Overall a decent experience in the hostel. Good location, social atmosphere and comfortable beds. However one night after cooking and eating our dinner we spotted a dead rat under the kitchen sink. When we told the receptionist she said she already knew about it and was waiting for someone to deal with it. We couldn't believe it wasn't a priority in a place where people were preparing and eating food.

Selina is not worth for the price you get, it’s a very cheap accommodation with old bathrooms and dirty feeling. We expected much more for the price we payed for a private room with and without bathroom. We first got a room the size of a closet with no windows... terrible, and then we got moved to another one just the same but with a window. For the price we payed we could have gotten a nice Airbnb with pool in Medellin. Not recommended at all for that price.

We began our stay waiting 15 minutes to be able to check into the hostel. This hostel is way too big and understaffed. The bathrooms were lined with black mold and were permanently humid and lingered of feces. The double private room was tiny and felt like a jail cell. The room was not very clean at all. The mattress was placed on top of a cheap wooden bed frame and would make a lot of noise if you moved. From the 6th floor you could feel and hear the bass from the Selena bar. only positv was AC
