Selina Nosara was a great hostel with an awesome vibe, fantastic staff, and even better facilities. The pool and common areas made it feel more like a resort than a hostel, but with young people around which made it awesome! Food was delicious and fairly priced. A bit out of town but the walk down the road was about 15 mins, or you could take jungle trails to town/the beach which took about 20. Only complaint was that the welcome drink was non-alcoholic (lol)!!! Would most definitely stay again.

    Fabulous

I’ve been staying at hostels all over the world for 5+ years, and this is by far the nicest hostel facility I’ve ever seen. It’s more like a 5 star resort than a hostel. A few, problems... they said location is in the “heart of everything” and that is so far from the truth (read other reviews). It’s aprox a 20 min walk down a VERY dusty road, that at night has no lights so bring a torch. Asides from that, great place! I did wish there was more of a atmosphere, but I think they was just timing.

It’s a 25 min walk to the beach through jungle, which wasn’t a problem for us, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable doing it as a solo female. Some of the staff were really helpful, others not so much! Food is expensive and pretty average, you can get better in the town. You end up spending a lot on food, taxis to the beach, yoga in the mornings etc. so it’s not a cheap place to stay. Atmosphere is nice though, the pool and bar area were great to relax in after a day on the beach. Would stay again.

Selina Nosara was more of a resort then a hostel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is located about 15-20min walk from the beach but transport to and from beach available for 5 usd each way. The buildings/pools themselves are probably the nicest I’ve seen at any hostel (like I said it’s more of a resort) but would say it doesn’t really have the backpacker vibe if that’s what you’re looking for.

Beautiful place but is More like a resort. Loads of families and a difficult atmosphere for meeting fellow travellers if you’re solo. Food is expensive and the kitchen is not very nice - you can walk to the beach via a jungle trail Which takes 20 mins, very beautiful trail but quite far from the beach and town. Come here for a good nights sleep if that’s what you’re after...!

The hangout spaces (pool decks, bar/restaurant, etc.) were AMAZING and by far the nicest I've ever seen in a Hostel. The dorm rooms weren't bad, but definitely "just okay". It was a bit further from the beach and main town area than I would have liked to have been, but still walkable (~:20 away?). Overall, a decent choice for a budget traveler.

The hostel really is nice, the only and really negative experience I had was with the payment. When we arrived I wanted to pay by credit card but after the guy at the reception put it in he said that the machine wasn’t workinand we should pay in cash. I asked for a receipt, but he said it was unnecessary, it would be saved in the computer. Few days later I saw that my credit card was charged anyway and now I‘m struggling with getting the money back because I have no proof of the cash transaction

The other reviews are spot on — nice place but far from everything (beach, town, etc) so hope you have a car or are okay getting dusty if you decide to walk. My (8 person) dorm was OK. I was in the room upstairs and it was always hot despite the AC running nonstop. The bathroom was huge and had hot water, but outside of taking out the trash next to the toilet they clearly didn’t clean it. The yoga was great though!
