You'll walk in the footsteps of Irish greats U2, Van Morrison and Sinéad O’Connor at Sky Backpackers as we’re based in the former Litton Lane Rehearsal and Recording Studios! We make the most of our heritage with regular live music nights – maybe you'll witness the next Irish supergroup on their way up. See the Liffey River and the cast-iron Ha’Penny Bridge on our free daily walking tour, then come back for free food and drink events, like free stacked burgers, sangria or beer. Or just settle in for our DVD night.

From our central location you can switch between the bars and buskers of Temple Bar – just 1 minute away – and the leafy paths of St Stephen's Green (a 13-minute walk from us). For some Irish culture, head to the National Gallery, just 15 minutes' stroll from us. Getting here is simple. Take the Aircoach or Airport Express 747 from Dublin Airport to O’Connell Street (3 minutes away on foot) and you’ll be here in 33 minutes. From Connolly railway station, we’re a 13-minute stroll.

No need to wander the halls in your pyjamas – our mixed and female-only dorms are all en-suite! Free linen is included in your booking – just remember to bring your towel. We have private rooms with their own bathrooms, too. Out touring the pubs for the day? Store your backpack in your locker.

Extras and activities

After a day at Dublin Castle, our common lounge (The Old Rehearsal Studio) is the perfect spot to play board games with other guests (or start a new band!). I really enjoyed this hostel, it was very clean and better than expected for the price. It is very centrally located, so I was able to walk everywhere which is always cost effective. The only down side with it being so central is the noise, but nothing some ear plugs can’t fix. I will be returning to Dublin as I have fallen in love with the city and will probably stay here again!

Great hostel! Really nice accommodation and met some amazing people. Very welcoming for solo backpackers/travelers and the main living space was great for socializing. Would definitely stay here again!

The staff were super friendly and helpful! Good location and the rooms were decently sized and clean. The social nights were a really nice way for me to meet people as a solo traveler.

Solid hostel. We didn't stay long enough to experience any night activities, but otherwise beds were good, facilities solid, free breakfast and some free dinners/snacks so always a good thing.

A really nice hostel. However, the wifi was non-existent in our room - we were on the first floor. Otherwise a great experience for the two nights we stayed there.

Nice well located hostel. Next to temple bar are for the party people and historic centre. Easy to get from the airport. Clean, good internet and fair breakfast. Only downside is that they are confused with finances. I had problems to pay for my stay cause they don't know how the website charges part of it and their exchange conversion skills are not the best. Also, I had to beg to get my towel deposit back. It's not wrongdoing, just they are bad with numbers. Free drink nights are great!

Spent very little time in the hostel so I don't have much to say except this: BED BUGS!!! Woke up with over 40 bites. I didn't notice right away because we had to leave early and in a hurry. So never addressed it with the hostel but I will say here. Super gross! And because I know I'm always looking for details on what breakfast entails: toast with jam or Nutella packets, plain pancakes, tin of digestive biscuits, unripe bananas, and juice or tea. Coffee was 1.50 Euro for a little pod.

The front desk staff were hit or miss. The first girl I talked to was rather rude and unhelpful, but the second girl was nice and apologetic. My room key never worked and I would always have to get it reprogrammed before I could return to my room. I left for whole-day tour to see the cliffs of Moher and when I returned, the front door code no longer worked. Luckily the front desk attendant was there to buzz me in, but he then took great pleasure in letting me know that they had changed codes.
