You'll walk in the footsteps of Irish greats U2, Van Morrison and Sinéad O’Connor at Sky Backpackers as we’re based in the former Litton Lane Rehearsal and Recording Studios! We make the most of our heritage with regular live music nights – maybe you'll witness the next Irish supergroup on their way up. See the Liffey River and the cast-iron Ha’Penny Bridge on our free daily walking tour, then come back for free food and drink events, like free stacked burgers, sangria or beer. Or just settle in for our DVD night.

From our central location you can switch between the bars and buskers of Temple Bar – just 1 minute away – and the leafy paths of St Stephen's Green (a 13-minute walk from us). For some Irish culture, head to the National Gallery, just 15 minutes' stroll from us. Getting here is simple. Take the Aircoach or Airport Express 747 from Dublin Airport to O’Connell Street (3 minutes away on foot) and you’ll be here in 33 minutes. From Connolly railway station, we’re a 13-minute stroll.

Rooms and Dorms

No need to wander the halls in your pyjamas – our mixed and female-only dorms are all en-suite! Free linen is included in your booking – just remember to bring your towel. We have private rooms with their own bathrooms, too. Out touring the pubs for the day? Store your backpack in your locker.

Extras and activities

After a day at Dublin Castle, our common lounge (The Old Rehearsal Studio) is the perfect spot to play board games with other guests (or start a new band!). We've also got a communal kitchen with a washing machine so you can cook and do your laundry at the same time – bonus! Feeling like some quiet time? Use our free Wi-Fi, make for the book exchange or study your free city map. If you think you've ticked off all the sites, drop by our tour desk to make plans further afield.

We had an amazing stay at sky backpackers! Location is fabulous, security is top notch - key pad to access the facilities, room keys and security bins under the beds. Full kitchen, en-suites and amazing staff!! We accidentally left our go-pro when we left and the staff has been amazing at helping us get it back! We would highly recommend this hostel!

Great, safe hostel in central location. Room was clean and of a decent size as well as the ensuite bathroom. Communal area on ground floor is hardly ever used but is nice to relax in. Strong wifi throughout the hostel. No lift so was walking up narrow stairs but this was not dealbreaker. Staff were friendly and front door is locked by keypad so very secure. Overall great experience

Easy to find, good location, helpful staff, nice breakfast, and a good room layout. There was a bit of street noise even late at night, but that's kind of to be expected with such a central location

Had my flights delayed by a day due to illness going to dublin and they wouldn't give me my money back for the missed night which really stinks. The room was clean though and its really night to have a full bathroom in the room. Also, ladies, there is a little vanity in the 6 person dorms which is really helpful for hair and makeup. I'd stay here again. Go on the pub crawl. It was fun and good value.

Overall a pretty nice hostel. Nice staff, good facilities, and clean. The events each night were good for meeting people in the hostel. In terms of proximity, location was very central and close to just about everything. On the flip side, there were indeed a group of homeless junkies who would hang out across the street, though they never seemed to bother hostel guests.

Sky Backpackers was overall a great hostel. 20 meters to the river Liffey, 5min walk to Temple Bar district, 10min walk to shopping area and so close to tour offices and pick ups. Breakfasts were good, majority of the staff were helpful, and rooms were spotless. My one problem with Sky Backpackers was the side street it was on; it seemed to be a good hideout for drug addicts. On multiple occasions on my 3 days there I saw cr**k being smoked and shoot ups done, some cases leaving needles behind.

The breakfast game was pathetic. Pretty much just toast and a banana. Otherwise amazing place to stay.
