Leipzig is one of the most vibrant cities in Germany with a fascinating night scene in a still moderately priced student town.

There are not many German cities where you can do windsurfing, sailing, diving, kite-surfing and other water sports.
Just a 20 minutes ride from the city centre by car or public transport you can do it in Leipzig and right at two big lakes: Lake Kulkwitz and lake Cospuden, vegetated surface minings.
Just ask us when you check in.

No membership card needed, no age restriction, no closing times.

From male groups with more than 6 people we take a security deposit in cash that will only be paid
back at check-out if the rooms are left in fair condition. We do not host stag nights or male party
groups! We reserve the right to reject these groups at check-in.

Staff was suuuuper nice, bathroom was great, clean, rooms were also very very good. I felt almost at home there, so that's a huge plus. It's close to the hauptbahnhof and also the Altstadt, so getting to know Leipzig and finding nice places to eat also becomes quite easy. I'll definitely be staying there again!

I had a great stay at the Sleepy Lion. It was conveniently-located, clean and well-organized. I wasn't traveling with a phone and the staff answered all of my questions.

One of the most astonishing Hostels I have ever stayed at. I understand it has a very well thought-out philosophy for mixing the generations who stay there. For me, being able to cook food for myself has high usefulness for my health; and 'Sleepy Lion' catered in only a limited way to my need: too few cooking utensils. Please forgive the brevity in my review, but I am very busy, staying at 'Luci's House' hostel in Saigon (HCM City, Vietnam) one of website's listed ones.

This is a really nice place to stay at a reasonable price. The staff are very friendly, and the guests I shared a room with were diverse and easy to get along with.

Neither a very modern nor a run-down hostel. I was in a 4-bed room, which was very spacious, with two robust bunk beds, a table, four chairs and a simple wardrobe with lockers. The ensuite bathroom was good. Mattress, pillow and blanket were a little old. And the location at a large street meant high safety and a lot of white noise at night, though no shouting people. Breakfast was simple but okay.Fridge and microwave. Overall I would recommend this hostel but the beds could be more comfortable.

    Very Good

Ideally located near the train station and with a tram stop right outside, 10 - 15 min walk into the heart of the city. Staff were really helpful and the place was clean, not a huge atmosphere and a lot of very young travellers - families or teenage groups. Was perfect for me for one night!

This is probably an okay spot to stay if you are with a group but as a solo traveller I wouldn’t recommend. There was no atmosphere and it felt really empty I don’t think my room was full the whole time. You have to make your own bed which is annoying for bunk beds and even more if you arrive late and you are tired. The staff seemed uninterested. The breakfast was mediocre. Didn’t really see better options in Leipzig but this wasn’t anything special.

Absolutely no atmosphere. Me and the person I am travelling with were he only two in a room for eight which was creepy and boring. The WiFi was awful and kept logging us out. There were not activities or extras put on by the hostel adding to the quiet plane feel. The hostel would be fine for a quiet family or older couples but that clientele usually go for air bnb or a hotel. Only stay here if you’re looking for a quiet bed and not much more.
