Hostelworld says

Sophie's Hostel has been favourably compared to a hotel, with 'spotlessly clean', 'smart-looking and comfortable' rooms and 'beautiful, modern minimalist decor', according to our users. Hostelworld guests say they like this hostel's position in New Town, saying it's 'a very quick metro ride to the Old Town Square' and 'only three blocks away from Wenceslas Square, but you are also a little bit out of the tourist old town so there are some great local restaurants nearby with amazing traditional Czech food'. We like that some of the dorms in this hostel don't have bunk beds.

Loved our stay at Sophie’s hostel! Perfect location, walking distance to all the major sightseeing places like Charles Bridge and the Astronomical Clock. The room was modern and decorated well. The heater was not working when we arrived and the room was freezing for a few hours but the staff took a look at it and were finally able to fix it thankfully. Also, the hot breakfast for 200 CZK is a must! It was so good and a great way to start the day. Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Sophie’s!

I couldn't believe how nice this hostel was for the price. The beds and bathrooms were clean, the location was great (15 minute walk from Old Town Square and right by a tram stop), and the staff was friendly.

Really clean and calm hostel, with a nice seating area and bar that opens late. The free pancakes on Wednesday were nice, as well as the 2hr happy hour. Having it’s own kitchen was fantastic because eating out in Prague can be pricey! Would recommend this hostel, thank you!

Loved the way there were a lot of bathrooms and the common area was great to hang out in. Amazing breakfast and such helpful staff. They helped us plan a trip to Karlstejn, let us store our luggage for free after check out, and recommended great restaurants. The bar also had reasonably priced drinks and board games which were awesome for when we wanted a break. Only complaint was one of our bunkmates but that was not the hostel's fault at all, I would definitely recommend Sophie's to a friend.

Overall the hostel was ok. The only thing I have to point is that I stayed 3 days and they didn’t seem to clean the bathroom. Apart from that, the location was great, easy to get from the city center, and the stuff was very helpful. The breakfast was great!!

    Very Good

I was disappointed that my stay at Sophie's Hostel did not live up to my expectations, based on the number of positive reviews. Most of the staff was not helpful when I asked for recommendations, although there were two or three of them who gave useful tips in exploring Prague and the region. However, I would say it is not a bad hostel overall.

There was no one here other than reception basically. None of the hallways or vestibules have light switches just dumbass automatic lights which don't work. Was like trying to fund your room in a house of mirrors. Not to mention the whole place was run down/ under construction.
