Lovely stay, with lovely staff. The private room I stayed in was quiet for the most part, and super comfy. The walls and floor were a bit dirty but for the price and location I was perfectly content. Would definitely stay again!

Hi there team, my button popped off my jeans in the room 25 shower room but I didn't notice until later given my use of a belt. Did your cleaning staff find it and do y0u have a wee pot of lost buttons through which I might rummage? Best regards, Ji

    Fabulous

Nice hostel in a great location extremely close to the train station and close to everything in Old Town. Don’t purchase through Hostelworld if you want breakfast though. They advertise free breakfast but don’t supply it unless you booked through the St Christopher’s website. Also not the best place if you’re a light sleeper. Bar across the road can be loud and staff also did nothing to stop an extremely loud group drinking outside until about 5am. Also bring your own towel.

    Good

The room didn't have bed reading lamps, note sockets to plug in and charge mobile phone/laptop/ GoPro/ gimbal and batteries for the day out to recharge camera. That in itself was quite a drawback. The en-suite bathroom didn't have paper towels or a drier so the other three people I was sharing the room with and I were using the toilet paper to dry our hands, for that reason, the roll(s) would get depleted really quickly.

    Good

I unfortunately shared the large room with a few of the loudest snorers I've ever heard, it made sleeping near impossible. However, that's something which cant be changed nor be officially complained about. What can be, is the Hostel setting up a bed at 2am for a drunk person who by the sounds of his very loud phone calls in the room, was going through a breakup. Not only did he wake everyone up, but he continued to shout down the phone. Blame is on the Hostel.

This hostel is very central in Edinburgh and easy to find, the rooms are packed extremely tightly and didn’t seem to be ventilated nicely as it was pretty stinky and warm. Bathroom situation was kind of confusing and the general facilities were a little run down

The hostel is very centric but in a very noisy area. the building and facilities are very old. the rooms are small, there is no place for the luggage (I had to keep mine on my bed). There are no plugs or personal lights near the beds- just one central light and one plug. Our room had an en-suite bathroom that smelled horribly. The bed is so tiny that swings when you move. There are zero anticovid measures.

Staff were rude and unpleasant. Should be more single gender rooms not mixed. No lock on the lockers making leaving your stuff feel very unsafe.
