This hostel has friendly staff and bright, clean rooms with under-bed lockers; there's also a popular bar underneath with discounts for residents on food and drink.

    Fabulous

Slept in the twelve bed room, the moment I walked in I noticed an odor, which I'm pretty sure was body odor. They had no fans in the and only a few windows cracked to circulate the air. If anyone got sick in the room.it would probably spread to everyone else. The bathroom was decent, the location was the best part right next to the central station. The were renovating and remodeling when I went so some construction noise was heard all throughout the day.

The staff were super friendly and i liked the curtains around the beds. However 1 bathroom for 12 people is a bit ridiculous, i waited 40 minutes and in the end gave up trying to have a shower. also there's no kitchen for guests so if you even want some water you have to go to the bar downstairs. apart from that, it was good!

Nice staff and looks like the new reception will be a huge upgrade. Secure rooms and thw ensuite was always clean. Lack of a decent kitchen is the only downfall

Location is perfect, near everything in the old town. Hostel is well mantained, staff are nice. The coin operated machine for storing luggage kept stealing everyone's money.

I never write negative reviews but if you’re a solo female traveler don’t even bother. Belushis is closed so you get pushed to a tiny little bar which has 0 social atmosphere and is just full of old men. They turn on the heaters in the room at 2am and everyone wakes up in sweats, the fan didn’t work to cool you down the showers were cold, everyone in the room tried to use them and they only were slightly warm ONCE and that was early in the morning. Also the fire alarm went off for a solid hour.

Christopher's Inn left me with mixed feelings. Moneywise it was the best option in Edinburgh but there was so much I had to bargain for. One guy sneaked in a missis, who wasn't staying in the hostel and shagged her in 18 bed dorm (full). Staff took action quite quickly. Basically this was possible because the reception can't control who comes in with the hostel card as there are multiple entrances. Storage room was really inconvenient and you had to pay to use the lockers.

Very average stay, partly due to an awkward and smelly room which wasn’t the hostels fault. Staff were friendly, close to the train station, fine for an overnight stop. We weren’t fans of the bunks which were three stories as it made the beds cramped and you couldn’t sit upright.

Location is great, right next to train station, airport bus stop and major tourist locations. However the facility is old and cramped, if you show up early you have to pay to store your bags, and they’re doing major construction. Shower was ice cold and power to the beds cut out during the night which caused our phones to not charge. When we talked to the front desk they seemed sympathetic and said we were paying and should be getting basic services, but nothing was actually done to address it.
