Superb venue. Light, curtains and Wi-Fi connection by each bed. My 12 bed dorm had a spotlessly clean shower and loo. Duvet and towel provided. Bonus was free laundry facilities. (washing powder needed to be purchased,) Even a lift up to your floor! Wonderfully friendly helpful staff. Just loved it. Thank you

As a solo traveller I found it was easy to meet people, the pub downstairs is great and they do amazing food. The location is amazing, 2 minutes from the train station and you can walk to both new and old town within 5 minutes. The staff are lovely, I felt very safe and if I needed help it was never a problem. Laundry services are free which was a bonus and there were charging ports right next to your bed! I was really happy with my stay and I could recommend it enough!

Great location, super convenient if you are traveling by train. The room was nice and clean, but I wish the hostel had more comfortable common spaces. Also, if you book through the hostel's website, you get free breakfast!

Loved this hostel and the fact that it was right above the bar that had live music and was a lot of fun. However, I stayed in a room with 18 people which was kind of a recipe for disaster. Someone threw up all over one of the bathrooms and on the floor in the room. The staff cleaned it up fairly quickly but I was just uncomfortable and grossed out with the large amount of people. If you are going to book, book a room with less people. It’s worth the extra money. Everything else was great though.

The 6 bedroom dorm was very small with not enough room for all the occupants bags so many bags were spread on the floor. The toilet had no toilet paper and there was no hot water in the shower. The whole building has seen better days and is in need of a lick of paint and refurbishment.

Not much of a review as we didn't get to stay . We phoned the night before to say we didn't have passports or driving licence s.And they told us all 5 of us needed passports or driving licence. Our three boys are 12,14and 15 so do not drive and if we don't have passports then our boys are unlikely to have them also. We were travelling from Cumbria,England to Edinburgh Scotland .I don't know why we would have needed a passport. We trave!led and stayed in Glasgow last month without a passport!

No hot shower in the en-suite room we booked, staff very rude when the issue was reported, no help at all to solve the issue. No point of booking the en-suite if you end up using the public showers. Also bed too small for tall people, not comfortable as well.
