Hostelworld says

St Christopher's Greenwich is 'ideally located if you're going to the O2 Arena' or looking for 'a quaint English town', according to Hostelworld guests, who say this hostel is 'cheap and good value for money'. Visitors say the friendly, attentive staff are 'always laughing' and 'helpful with enquiries'. Weekends are lively at this hostel, where 'you can experience a full night out there since it has a bar and a club' where you can meet 'residents and non-residents alike'. We like that it's next to the train going into Zone 1, a journey taking around 10 minutes.

    Very Good

    26 Apr 2019
Completely new to hostels. The facilities and breakfast were good and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was not prepared for the other guests being so lacking in disregard for others. As we were situated near to the shared toilets we were woken at many points throughout the night as people were shouting and slamming doors. Also the toilets were very dirty. This really detracted from our stay, especially as my husband was running the marathon and would have appreciated a better nights sleep.

I read the reviews, so I new they are a pub and a hostel. If I am tired enough I can sleep anywhere, the problem was there is no other area where you can be/sit/relax besides the pub which is a club with superloud music from 8 on. So when you want read, hang out, have a conversation you can only stay in your bed. But since you won,t be able to sleep before 1 o clock, you want to do stuff without disturbing others in your room. The breakfast is totally fine for 4 pounds, but only from 7-9.

Pros: next to Greenwich station Cons: no kitchen, generally quite grimey, little/no atmosphere, payable lockers and the bar upstairs. £4.20 for an orange juice and lemonade - I appreciate its London but that’s unjustifiably expensive. I booked for 2 nights as I was running the marathon but left after 1. Not a bad hostel but expected so much more for the price. Could definitely be cleaned more and needs a refurb.

Unfortunately very run down and poor facilities. It smells like muld and the rooms are very, very poor for example you have 2 showers on a floor that hosts 18 people. The "common area" consists of 2 worn out couches, a snacks machine and a wall where you can lock your baggage for a charge of 2.50 pounds. I would recommend no one to stay there more than one night. The pro are the very nice people that run the poor facilities and the bar with a good selection of beers. BTW no kitchen included

Booked for 2 nights and asked for a middle bunk; few days prior to my check in, I was told not a problem. On arrival, it was a problem, didn't get the bed I was looking for and no other beds were available. Furthermore, the bed I was given was beyond bad. The mattress was long passed his due date, coupled with the extremely loud music coming from the bar until 2am, caused a sleepless night. Couldn't stand another sleepless night and left the place. Horrible experience.

Dirty smelly rooms, no real security anyone could let anyone else in, was told I could store my bags until check in and paid 2 pound fifty for a locker but my bag wouldn't fit in it, no offer of a refund just had to sit in the attached pub and wait, food in pub was burnt and cold and overpriced
