Hostelworld says

Hostelworld guests often compare Stayokay Amsterdam Oost (Zeeburg) to a hotel, saying it's spacious and clean and serves a very highly praised breakfast of 'eggs, cheese, ham, freshly pressed orange/apple juice' and more. Visitors tell us the hostel 'has excellent tram and bus connections and all the main attractions are on the same tram line', putting it about 10 minutes by tram from the very centre of Amsterdam. We like that there is a reading light and power socket at each dorm bed, with decor that's been described as 'beautiful and modern and...well taken care of'.

This hostel is amazing, and I already want to come back and stay here again. The staff are super nice and helpful, the restaurant and bar attached to the hostel are serving drinks and food from early til late, and on the days I was visiting they were hosting some events, meaning there is a really nice atmosphere in the bar. The beds are comfy, and the sleeping areas and bathroom areas are clean. Good chill location, 15 mins from Center on bike or with tram. Cannot recommend enough :))

Really enjoyed my stay here, Was a perfect place to stay for the last day of my trip to Amsterdam. The chill vibe was just what we needed after a few party days prior to this.

It was a nice place to stay for a night but the sink had a weird smell in the morning and the shower head was broken as well. (I told it to the receptionist the next morning so they could take care of it, he apologised for it.)

This was overall a solid hostel, but the location was rough - spend more to stay closer to the city center (or pay it in metro fees anyway). Facilities were good and the design was nice - it was very clean and modern. However, the rooms don't come with padlocks for the lockers, and I got a couple bug bites when I was there that could have been bedbugs. Also, they gave me and my traveling partner two connected beds (set up like a double) in a dorm instead of the individual bunks we booked.

We were in a very uncomfortable 6 bed dorm that should have only been for max 4 people. Moving around was hard not to get in each other’s way. Also the hostel is huge and caters to large school groups which ruins the vibe of a hostel. The feeling of this company is that they are not interested in providing the best experience or stay, just focused on how to maximize profit in the number of beds they can fit.

The restroom in the room are not very clean and quite smelly. The odor in the room doesn't leave the room with the closed windows

Stayokay Amsterdam Oost says

I think what guests like the most about our hostel is our price and quality. The rooms are clean and safe, there is free Wi-Fi. In our bar you can meet other travellers and play a game of pool or darts. The hostel has a bike rental service, which is a great way to get around the city! Our staff is very experienced and willing to help you find your way around the city. At the reception lots of things are available like towels, tickets for museums and attractions, public transport tickets and the Amsterdam card or City Pass.
Around the hostel there are some interesting things to do and see. For example, there is a cinema next door and a real Dutch windmill in walking distance. This is a good photo stop and it gets even better; it's also a beer brewery! At 'Brouwerij 't IJ' they make their own local Amsterdam beer and of course you can have a taste there on their sunny terrace.
For some culture you can take a short walk to the Royal Tropical Institute (Tropenmuseum). The permanent and temporary exhibitions display (art) objects, photographs, music and film from non-western cultures. Did you know that there are people with over 180 different nationalities living in Amsterdam?
Guests of all ages are welcome in our hostel. Over the last 5 years that the hostel is open, we have welcomed guests from 0 to 88 years. Most guests are between 18 and 30 years old. This is a wheelchair-friendly building and there is an elevator available. There are also several wheelchair-accessible rooms available for people with special needs or disabilities. Rian, Manager
