Hostelworld says

Hostelworld guests often compare Stayokay Amsterdam Oost (Zeeburg) to a hotel, saying it's spacious and clean and serves a very highly praised breakfast of 'eggs, cheese, ham, freshly pressed orange/apple juice' and more. Visitors tell us the hostel 'has excellent tram and bus connections and all the main attractions are on the same tram line', putting it about 10 minutes by tram from the very centre of Amsterdam. We like that there is a reading light and power socket at each dorm bed, with decor that's been described as 'beautiful and modern and...well taken care of'.

The hostel was very nice, staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean (including the toilet and showers). It was around a 40 minute walk to the centre which didn't bother my friend and I but there was a tram stop right outside the hostel which would've been a quicker route. The only downside was the poor WIFI which took ages to connect to and then wasn't very fast like it was advertised to be. But overall, it's a very nice hostel.

Location is well out of the city center, but close enough to the train station where it is not too bad of an inconvenience. Everything else about the hostel is fantastic.

We’ll set up hostel with good facilities and rooms. Ideally I would’ve found something a little bit more central, that’s the only thing really bringing down the rating for me.

Very modern hostel, seperate toilet and shower in the dorm rooms which is always a plus. Every bed had power outlets and lights. The atmosphere wasn’t the best, however I was lucky to be in a room with some other young travellers also willing to meet people. But the entire rest of our floor was filled with kids that were about 12 years old. They were running around the hostel, banging on each other’s doors and being loud. Felt like they took over the place away from the real hostel travellers

Expensive rooma; charged extra for a lot of things. Communal kitchen would have been an advantage - food was very overpriced. No real community atmosphere or opportunities to mix with other guests. Overall satisfactory, but very overpriced.

Stayokay Amsterdam Oost says

I think what guests like the most about our hostel is our price and quality. The rooms are clean and safe, there is free Wi-Fi. In our bar you can meet other travellers and play a game of pool or darts. The hostel has a bike rental service, which is a great way to get around the city! Our staff is very experienced and willing to help you find your way around the city. At the reception lots of things are available like towels, tickets for museums and attractions, public transport tickets and the Amsterdam card or City Pass.
Around the hostel there are some interesting things to do and see. For example, there is a cinema next door and a real Dutch windmill in walking distance. This is a good photo stop and it gets even better; it's also a beer brewery! At 'Brouwerij 't IJ' they make their own local Amsterdam beer and of course you can have a taste there on their sunny terrace.
For some culture you can take a short walk to the Royal Tropical Institute (Tropenmuseum). The permanent and temporary exhibitions display (art) objects, photographs, music and film from non-western cultures. Did you know that there are people with over 180 different nationalities living in Amsterdam?
Guests of all ages are welcome in our hostel. Over the last 5 years that the hostel is open, we have welcomed guests from 0 to 88 years. Most guests are between 18 and 30 years old. This is a wheelchair-friendly building and there is an elevator available. There are also several wheelchair-accessible rooms available for people with special needs or disabilities. Rian, Manager
