Hostelworld says

Stayokay Amsterdam Vondelpark is near the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum and the nightlife of Leidseplein, with a view overlooking Vondelpark. There are several buses and trams nearby which go across the city. Hostelworld guests tell us this hostel offers great value for money, 'a nice mix for international visitors' and that they'd recommend it 'if you want a quiet night in Amsterdam'. We particularly like their highly-praised, typically Dutch breakfast of cheese, meats, eggs and more.

Loved StayOkay! It is a great location and for the cost it was a great place, I was blown away. If you are a single woman travelling, however, be careful in Vondelpark at night. I recommend taking the road leading to the hostel and not going through the park at night.

We loved this hostel! I stayed with my wife and 4 children (aged 12, 11, 5 & 6) in a private 6 bedded room( 3 x bunk beds) with en suite facilities and it was great. The location is brilliant with the Vondelpark literally on the doorstep and the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Concertgebouw, Stedelijk modern art museum, Leidseplein all a short 10min walk away. The room was basic but fine. The communal areas are chic and inviting. Breakfast was great too. All in all a great experience. Thank you!

The hostel is well located: in front of Volendam Park; near one area full of restaurant/bars and 200 metres of a tram and bus stop. The hostel has a nice and chill atmosphere: a bar, sofas and places to relax and talk with each other. I was sleeping in a 20 bed's room and it was always clean (also there were always bathrooms available)

    Very Good

The hostel itself is beautiful, and there's lots of places to sit and read, or catch up on work etc. I hired a bike for most of my stay, which was essential for navigating the city as well as getting around the park with ease. The staff were friendly and always happy to help. One thing which needs attention though with priority is the cleanliness of the beds. There were 'bits' all over them when I arrived. It was clear they don't get cleaned often unlike the rest of the room/facilities.

    Very Good

The hostel is generally very nice. It has a modern communal area with bar and area to socialise, which was ideal for our large group of people. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, and made life easy for us to pay baring in mind we had 10 guests between 2 rooms. The rooms themselves are basic, bunk beds, toilet, shower and facility to lock your belongings provided you bring a padlock. The room is a bit out dated, but all in all would highly recommended.

The hostal have policies that doesn’t look for a customer satisfaction, and are more like: “let’s save and make money on every chance”. Showers are annoying, you have to push a button every 15 seconds. Doors from streets are open from reception, and reception is not available 24 hours. You have to specify your check-in time. If you are 1 hour late, you can lose your booking and have to pay a 5€ fee. The problem is your policies, fix them.

Stayokay Amsterdam Vondelpark says

I think our most unique feature is that we're partly located in a monumental chalet building from which you have a stunning view over the Vondelpark. We're in the middle of things but still very quiet.
Our location means we're right in the city centre of Amsterdam and very close the Leidseplein (the entertainment area), Museumplein (Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum) and a lot of shopping streets. So if you want to go out and shop, eat, drink, visit museums or cruise through the canals, everything is just around the corner.
During the day I recommend that our visitors either rent a bike to discover the city like a local or take a boat trip through the canals. At night I like the famous Melkweg or Paradiso music venues.
I'd say we're ideally suited for backpackers and groups aged 18 to 30, and we cater for people with special needs or disabilities. Rob, Manager
