Lovely, welcoming staff....but bad management.Broken shower heads, and blocked plumbing, which management don't want to fix. A kitchen that doesn't open until 14:30, is just a blatant ploy to get people to buy the house breakfast. You can't even access your own food/milk out of kitchen hours, and have no access to hot water. I find it hard to believe they make enough money from doing this to justify the inconvenience to guests. There's been a definite drop in standards since I was here last year.

    Very Good

Mixed feelings. Some receptionists are super cool, one very unfriendly. Do not take the breakfast option, it is way overpriced (5.50€), and doesn't include a drink (no tea or coffee). 2 cats live in the hostel. I love cats but when I saw them jumping in the kitchen I realized it was seriously a bad idea having free cats in a hotel... Apart from that is was comfortable, everything worked well in the room and for a good price. Definitely inside the room I was feeling okay and could rest.

If you value function and location this place is ok, but it really was not that great. I've stayed in plenty of grim hostels in my time and this was one of the grimmest. Piles of dirty bedding all over the stairs up to the rooms. A random cat in the hostel. We only were staying one night and thankfully we were too busy to spend any amount of time in the hostel.

Would not advise for a few reasons. The room I got wasn't cleaned, walking around barefoot for less than a minute made my feet completely black. Inspecting the floor I saw big pieces of dust and dirt piled up in the corners. This is when I noticed that my bed was already made while the others weren't, and somebody clearly had slept in mine. DON'T go if you're allergic to cats. The hallways also reek from badly cleaned cat litterboxes. Staff wasn't polite nor helpful, acted as entitled guests.

I stayed here 2 years ago, and it was ok then. This time, not so much. On arrival the first thing I was met with was the stink from the cat’s litter box which should have been cleaned days ago. I love cats, but seriously.. The cleaning leaves a lot to be desired and the plumbing wasn’t working properly in the bathroom which left the floor flooded. I had booked a bed in a six bed room but on my second day there they decided to add an extra bunk bed making the room totally cramped.

The photos on the website did not match the reality. The entrance and the hall were dirty and it smelled. The corridor is full of cupboards making it difficult to pass and there is absolutely no mention of fire safety. The smoke alarm in the room is covered. So it can't work. The private room was dirty and very small. There are 2 cats in the hostel, so if you are allergic to this I would certainly not book here. I would not advise anyone to stay here. The only positive is the location. We were g

DON'T GO THERE !!!! This is the WORST BACKPACKERS I've ever been to !!!!! This place is awfully disgusting, bad smellings, cats hanging around everywhere. The photos don't reflect the reality, rooms are really dirty, there are humidity all around the place and it seems like they never clean up. The common are horrible too, the kitchen is a big dirty mess ! If you want to spend a night in the beautiful city of Utrecht, please find another place !

I booked three days in this grimy s****le because it was cheap. Upon arriving I was overcharged by five euro fifty. The girl said it was because I went through another OTA I went via website. The room stank of shit there was no ventilation and the mattresses were coated with plastic sheets that crunched on movement. Fag butts on the stairs, litter trays stinking. I tried to cancel my next two nights stay. The girl told me I wouldn’t be refunded any money. They are mercenary. Grim.
